The convenience of Banfield in so many US locations earns it a 5 star. Des Moines is actually easier than most locations to get a timely appt

The staff here is so kind and compassionate! They have cared for my senior dog, as well as my cats, for several years. My dog was recently diagnosed with cancer and Dr. Garlock was so kind to me at the appointment. She discussed our options clearly, while being mindful of my mindset at that point. Dr. Stickler provided care for my girl, and preformed the euthanasia when the time came. She was so sweet and compassionate. It helped us so much as we said our goodbyes. Dr. Marietta is our routine care provider and she was always a fantastic vet! Her kindness is exceptional and we have always been grateful! My son brings his pets here for care and he has only good things to say about his experiences! The techs and other support staff are always patient and compassionate and they are always willing to take the time to make sure we understand everything and all of our questions are answered before we leave.

I have nothing but good things to say about Banfield. They have treated both me and my pets with dignity and kindness. My last vet at a different practice was afraid of my dog, who is always well-behaved at the vet. Dr. Marietta was the complete opposite. She even brought vet techs in to see my boy because she was so impressed with him. We recently received some bad news about our older cat's health, and Dr. Fertig was clear about my options and kind about my decision. A vet tech sat with me while I cried. I've never experienced a kindness like that at another vet.

This is a general review for the whole company, not just with this location. Do not start a wellness plan with these scam artists. Here’s a small list of reasons why.The wellness plan I have is $40.00 a month. That covers my dog to get his vaccines, checkups, and some heart worm medicine. But somehow every time I go in there it costs me hundreds of dollars for the random things that are also suddenly wrong with my seemingly healthy dog. The plan does not cover any flea or tick medicine btw. So this adds up to 480 dollars a year for basically 1 good check up and a couple included things.I can’t feasibly use Banfield anymore, and honestly I wouldn’t have wanted to anyways. I recently moved back to my home state and have a local vet clinic I’ve used in the past that I want to start back up with. When I went to cancel my service with Banfield, after almost 2 hours on hold the worker continuously interrupted me and told me I could either pay them even more money or kick rocks and pay 5 more months of 40 dollars a month for a service that once again I can’t use. They don’t care about you or your pet, they’re a greedy company that’s only worried about making as much money as possible. In summary, stay away.

Banfield took care of Max for 14 years. We never had to wait too long for an appointment and they were always prompt when replying to questions/messages. Yesterday we had to take Max in for his last visit. The compassion and sympathy shown by the entire team was outstanding. They gave us all the time and space we needed. They explained exactly how everything would go. They even offered to let us leave through the back door if we would like. While it was a sad day for our family, the entire staff at Banfield made this a little less difficult. I would never hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

This place is the worst place I have ever taken my animal. Rude staff, and awful price for a subscription you never use. Go somewhere else anywhere else but here

These people LOVE what they do AND they LOVE your pets as much as you (maybe more!)!

Moved to the area over 3 years ago and had a wellness plan at Banfield already. My dog has a history of being super anxious and a bit reactive, and the entire staff here has been so patient with him. He has made so much progress in the last 3 years after having continuous good experiences at the vet after Dr. Marietta and Stef figured out what worked best for my dog.

We have been only been with Banfield and Dr. Trepp for a few months, but can honestly say it was the best decision I have made for my dog's health. My dog is a rescue that has some anxiety/trust issues and everyone at Banfield has always handled him with the highest level of care. Angie at the front desk is always super professional and helpful. Dr. Trepp takes extra care with him knowing he tends to be uneasy around unfamiliar people. Dr. Trepp gives the right amount of information about any concerns and will go into further detail without making it seem like she is talking down to us. We have always felt that they are focused on his health and not selling us an expensive/unnecessary medication or treatment. Their health plan make the treatments easy to understand, customizable, and affordable. They are also really good about making sure we can get an appointment, even when it is last minute.

I have been a client at the Clive Banfield since 2010. They have gone over and above for my fur babies time and time again. I have recommended MANY families to Banfield Clive and will continue to do so in the future!

My dog was really sick. I called and basically bombarded my way into an appointment. They said bring him right in. The first vet thought he had a hip issue. She checked him out thoroughly but he’s a dog and can’t talk. So she sent him home with anti inflammatory meds. That Friday he got really worse. I brought him back and got a different vet and she X-rayed him, did blood work, physical exam etc. We get to the end of the day and she calls and she tells me there is one more test- pancreas. It’s an extra fee. I’m like you have to. We have to find out what’s wrong. He was positive. She put him on lots of meds to try and help him. He had to go back 2 more times for I.V. To try and hydrate and flush the toxins causing him issues. After 2.5 weeks he popped out of it like he never had an issue. I’m so grateful to Dr Garlock for loving Bear and caring for him and being relentless to find the issue.
