Everyone is personable and knowledgeable on a variety of projects. They will work with you on any budget. We are on the third major home remodel being mostly supplied through them. Won't be the last (though hopefully its a long time)!

The team at Akin Building Centers is wonderful and very helpful. They provide great home town customer service and are very knowledgeable about their products and what they offer! I will not shop at a big city store anymore! Having Akin's next door with great service and help for all my home projects is great!

Over the years, we have done quite a bit of business with this company, and found we usually prefer doing business with the Clarinda store, but this time was a disaster. We took a piece of plywood with us so we would be certain to get the exact type and color we needed to finish a job. We were assured they had the product we needed. We paid, they loaded, but when we got home, the board was inferior with blotches and marks on it and totally the wrong color. In fact, there was no color. How can you mistake white for mahogany? We called back and their explanation was it wasn't our fault! We don't have any control over the color! What?! We specifically told them wanted the color of board we showed them. Very disappointed in them. The least you can do is take ownership of your mistake and correct it. I think we will probably not being doing business with them again.
