My vet’s office just does well care visits and had no opening for a few weeks, really! The week before I took his sister to the emergency clinic out by the airport for a cut. I paid more than $700 to have it treated, ridiculous. So, I had to find a vet that could treat him as a non-emergency. Heartland did a great job. He had been there before and they got him in right away and examined him. We left with the medication all for less than $100. Great place to bring your pets.

She has been so flexible with our ever changing schedules throughout the boarding times as well. I couldn't imagine another place to take my dog when we are out of town, Kelley is where his heart is!

We tried a flight to see what we would end up wanting in a full size. When our waiter came back, he gave us some ideas based on what we like and was super helpful. We loved the beers we had! The place is a little tight but there is outdoor seating. There's good signage to know where the main entrance is when you start walking up. Their merch is along the far wall from when you get there. I'm not certain but I think you can get in by going through the restaurant in the front of the building.

7411 Mt Vernon Rd SE, Cedar RapidsI've now adopted 3 wonderful cats from CVHS. Twiggy was adopted 4 years ago, she was the light of my life!! She stayed with my ex when we got divorced but is still twiggin around like she always does. On Aug. 1st I adopted a beautiful white cat (Snuggle) with heterochromia from them too and named her Yuna. She has such a sweet disposition and fits into my household perfectly. Yuna developed a UTI and they called their Vet Tech for me and gave me UTI meds for her for free. I love how they support adopters through the whole process and ensure the pet they adopted stays healthy. Staff and volunteers there are so extremely kind and helpful as well.
Updated my review just to say we adopted little Montee from CVHS to be a companion to my sweet Tuna back in December. This little adoptee my daughter sweetle named Canada. She was the runt of the litter of a pregnant stray that was brought into them.
Canada and Yuma are just the absolute best companions. They are Yin and Yang and often sleep curled together like the Yin Yang sign. Canada keeps my senior girl Yuna who is 7 still youthful and playful.
I have never had a single problem with any animal I have adopted at CVHS. Their staff is amazing and they really know how to introduce you to the perfect furry friend to join your family. Thank you CVHS for giving me 3 amazing fur babies to love on for the past 4 years <3
