The person working at the front desk has been rude every time I’ve been in this store.

Cute little book store. I was not too impressed with the selection, especially nonfiction, but it’s a small store.

Update as to owner response: i wont say much as to your response just goes to show how you can be to others and shows that you discriminate toward those with disabilities. But lets get it straight two groups of 4 came in 10min apart and stayed for 20 min failed to mention the one for transaction over $55, whos total had a 15 to 20 dollar discrepancy when we added up the cost of their total. So we spent over 100 in your store in 20 min you cost yourself 4 other transactions. Because your claim to i was "standing quietly behind the counter" refusing to answer any question and then mean mugging everyone of them to a point 4 of them refused to spend money in your store because of your attitude, which you clearly show in your response here. You run a bookstore, so thinking people are not going to touch books to see if they want to buy them. Just because someone with a disability touched your books does not mean any were ruin, not one book was ruin. You were lucky you made any money at all with how rude you were. This is not the first complaint about you showing this behavior towards patrons with disabilities. I will be taking the time to file a formal complaint with the BBB about discriminates against those with intellectual disabilities and will be giving them your response here as proof. So thank you sir for showing your true colors for the public to see * plus i will find out who i need to be in contact with about your cat in the store since you claimed more than 5 times he was mean. A mean animal should not be in a public storeHorrible experience, will never shop here again. Very rude and discriminates against people who have Intellectual Disabilities. If you have loved ones or work with clients with intellectual disabilities DO NOT take them here. Do not subject your loved ones to this type of behavior, your loved ones will be able to tell they are not welcome. I've always try to encourage those with intellectual disabilities to shop locally and support local businesses. This is not one to support. Also believe he charged us an inconvenience fee since he did not give us an itemize receipt and had over charged by almost 20 dollars. Be warned!

Boycott! Stand up against discrimination and Stand with the ADA Title III! Businesses must provide people with disabilities an equal opportunity to access the goods and services that they offer! *** I do not represent any company, I'm standing up for my loved one***

My Son and his friends from his Day Hab Program visited this store. They were treated poorly and made very aware they were not welcome... The owner was rude and wouldn't answer any questions from the group. Another group of Specials from a different agency came in as well. They were treated poorly too. The amount of coaching, talking and reassuring it takes to get the individuals to go into their community and interact with people is ongoing and a piece of their daily routine. More often than not, the individual has no friends and develops a love of books that helps foster their imagination and assists in building friendships through common interests. Remind yourself why you opened this store in the first place. Your love of books and wanting to share that with others. Let's do better and embrace community inclusion fully. Only positive was Frank the kitty.

The absolute best indie bookstore I've ever visited. The owner is kind, funny, and has so many good recommendations. The selection is incredible given the size of the store, and we found books for ourselves, our teenager, and as gifts. They host book clubs and other events and you can't beat the location in Newbo. I have saved the best for last: there's a bookstore cat! When I went in a few weeks ago, I picked up a book called "The Rabbit Hutch" just to see what it was about. The owner told me a little about it, said he enjoyed it, and recommended it. His recommendation was so compelling that others shopping in the store also grabbed the book! He was so kind and appreciative to everyone who bought books and the best part is ... the book is just as described and a great pick! It wasn't a generic recommendation and his love of reading shows. Prices are reasonable - books cost what they cost. The store has lots of cute gifts as well, especially for pet people, books people, and candle lovers!

This cute little bookstore we ran upon by accident. It is really a neat little gem! Clearly Frank the cat runs the place and tolerates Bart the amazingly friendly and knowledgeable "guy behind the counter". Frank and Bart are worth the visit!!!

It's always good to have neighborhood bookstores. Next Page Books is in the NewBo and Czech Village areas which are popular with people in Cedar Rapids as well as those from farther away seeing a nice road trip destination for a fun day of exploring. To get a sense of the area, I'm sharing a photo of a tiny green house that is just two doors down from the bookstore.

My son and I stop in to this shop each time we go to NewBo. The owner is always so welcoming and his customer service has always been amazing. He takes the time greet each customer. It’s a cute intimate book shop with an array of classics, fiction, non fiction, young adult, and kids books. A must see.

Small but completely enchanting book store. My sister and I weren’t even fully in the door before we fell in love with the place, the books, the candles, the cat paraphernalia. Good music, nice ambiance and great selection of books. Support independent book sellers, especially great ones like this!

I had gone into this store with a friend, not entirely sure what to expect since it was a small store and admittedly, at the time I doubted I would've walked out with anything in hand.My expectations were far exceeded when I walked through the door to be met with what seemed like a library jammed into an apartment sized room. There was a breath of creativity seen throughout the room as one took time to look around and realize the vast extent of selections available. It took me all but a few laps around the room to fully comprehend just how much inventory was truly present - to say it was astronomical.Every wall one looked, there was a different book or genre available, begging to be picked up and inspected and ultimately brought home. When I was finally ready to check out, cookbook in hand, I began to speak with a man by the name of Bart. As I talked with Bart more, I began to realise he has many of travels under his belt and is more than willing to share them if you ask. I also quickly realised being well traveled and well read alike, Bart has probably heard of your small town.Overall, I loved the experience shopping here and I would love to come back again.Postscript: Do take note of the decorations in the window, as I visited the winter display was just taken down but, Bart had shown me pictures and he has every right to be proud of such an amazing display.

Cozy, intimate bookshop. I’m so impressed with the wide selection in a small space. Owner made an excellent recommendation when we weren’t quite sure what we were looking for.
