I had the worst experience with Jennifer who is the manager in bakery. I had placed an order for a custom cake on 2/2/24 for pick up on 2/6/24 @ 10 am. I spoke directly with someone on the phone who gave me an email to forward a picture of the example I wanted on the cake. I did not receive any type of email or phone call indicating there was an issue with what was ordered or that there was a time delay. When I showed up to pick up the cake, Jennifer appeared very angry and flustered, she was throwing around papers and telling me she has 3 trucks to unload. Asked if I had any other shopping to do. I grabbed the remainder of my items and returned to bakery to a even more flustered Jennifer who was apparently now just getting to the cake. She became upset and stated "I don't even know what's supposed to be on this cake" "I don't know who you talked to, but I have been on vacation" and then advised me to get a premade cake and she would write "happy birthday" on it. This cake was for my husband's 40th birthday. Not having the cake is only a small part of this issue, it's the way I was treated, spoken to and how she took NO accountability for the scenario. She made me feel awful. It was appalling. I have purchased many custom cakes from the Mt Vernon road Hy-vee with no issues and will never go back or recommend them.

We ate in the Wahlburger cafe. Very good food and very nice lady serving us.

Advertised items fuel savers not ringing in right. High prices. Resigned up for new fuel saver over 2 months ago, still no new card, half fuel savers rang in, big ones did not, HyVee blamed me for not signing up for new card. When I told them I had and how some items had worked, never heard anymore from them. Check your receipts for correct fuel saver amounts.

The staff is on point✊ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ they all deserve a huge raise corporate!!!! These stores would not be anything, without the people that actually do the work.I am not kidding Hy-Vee corperate, give them all through out the chain the raises they all have earned and most definitely deserve!

The store has so many options. Generally, this is a very clean and well-kept store. It did happen to be an off night. A few items that should have been removed from the shelf were missed. I am sure it was taken care of as they have a good practice of running a great store. Lucky to have them so conveniently located in the neighborhood. Keep up the good work. ?

I’m generally very pleased with the Mount Vernon HyVee. However, I do have a couple of questions. First, if we use the self checkout because of long lines, why don’t we get a discount for doing what someone else is paid to do ? Second, why does it take 50 minutes to fulfill a prescription that (a) is supposed to be on automatic refill and (b) I’d phoned in the day before? And then why, when I got impatient, was I called “abusive”? Why didn’t they, instead, apologize for wasting the better part of an hour of my time ?
