If I could give a negative rating in this review I would. My brother in law had a HD card. He passed away on December 12, 2022. We received a letter from HD stating that there was suspected fraud on his card. We didn't even realize he had a card. His card was used the week AFTER his death for almost $1,700.00. Of which almost $700.00 appeared to be used at their gift card mall. We contacted them to verify that it was fraud and they said they would investigate. All of a sudden we get a letter that said they determined that it was not fraud and the he had benefit of the purchases. tell me how that happens when he passed away 4 or 5 days before the charges were incurred. We tried several times to get the charges removed to no avail. Now we have a letter from a collection agency stating this amount was sent for collection and must be paid. Home Depot you really dropped the ball on this one and I will never set foot in this store again.

Home Depot is such a nightmare, it's taken many cluster f's but I've finally determined that while many of the employees are nice, it's a mess I'm not dealing with anymore. We ordered a tub and tub surround mid January that was to be delivered 1/31. First, the tracking info online was never available. 1/30 rolls around and I called to inquire how this tub was going to travel overnight from whatever mysterious place it was beginning its journey (because the system wouldn't even provide that tracking info) to Cedar Rapids so we could pick it up by 1/31. The employee I talked to was friendly and assured me it would likely come with the 4 am delivery the morning of 1/31 and she'd leave a note letting receiving know we were eager to get it. Next morning, 1/31 rolls around. We even gave them hours to unload, I call at 11, it's there but it's not unloaded. It might not be unloaded until tomorrow, or tonight at the earliest, but he assures me he's going to let them know we are waiting for it. I call again at 4, to see if we can pick it up. The phone gets passed around and finally I'm told it's not there. Which was weird because as far as we knew, it was there this morning and bathtubs rarely vanish into thin air these days. She finally she agreed to go check with receiving (brilliant, radical idea that maybe could've happened 5 hours ago?) After fifteen minutes on hold, someone hung up on me. I tried calling back for the next hour, to find out if we need to find a different tub in stock at 6 PM. I finally get ahold of someone at the pro desk (shout out to Don, the only person at Home Depot that gave a crap) who had to walk to the customer service counter and find out what in the apocalyptic hell happened to prevent EVERYONE from answering the phone. Never pressed him for answers because he was nice and doing someone else's job for them. He confirms that the tub was not there (he even checked with receiving AND, get this, was offering to UNLOAD it from the trailer if it was there two problem-solving thoughts that had never dawned on the other two employees.) So finally my husband goes to find a new tub at 7 PM, which we unfortunately bought from the Crap Depot , as well. He tried to use a 15% off coupon they sent us, (probably for swiping our cards there more than any other idiot at their store this year ) and they refused to let us use this pathetic coupon, because it had eXpiReD one day ago. You'd think after making things 500x more complicated than it should've been they would have honored it anyways just for wasting our time and money. The "sorry for your troubles" was much better though we'll treasure that insincere apology for years.

RUDE AND UNHELPFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE! I went in trying to find a connector and the first person who helped me good guy, very kind he directed me to the electric person that works for the electricity department or whatever it's called and I showed a picture of what I was looking for and I was trying to explain to him what I needed it for. It's understandable and I understand if you guys don't carry it. I can respect that I was looking all over town for it no luck. But in the middle of me telling him what I need it for he strongly said " I DONT CARE" I know you guys job is to help and provide customer service and it's not your fault you guys don't carry it there's nothing you can do. I work customer service myself but that is no way to treat a customer I was just trying to see if you guys carried it and in no way was I rude or anything. Bad customer service you guys can't just hire anyone from the street that doesn't know how to talk to customer service.

Home Depot Cedar Rapids Customer Service Representative, Robin ?? on a power trip. He has no people skills, is sarcastic, talks down to and shows no respect for his customers. Wrong items were keyed in and ordered by Home Depot then told me it was a custom order- no refunds.

I wish I could select 0 stars. Hands down worst Home Depot experience in my life. Asked for help with lumber, and was stared at blankly until I repeated myself enough times that they started helping. "Helping" is honestly an understatement, though, as when I (a 5ft tall 100lb woman) received the large, heavy 4ft x 8ft piece of lumber, I was not offered any help in getting it to the front. The two associate men watched me struggle to push the cart down the aisle, and did not offer any assistance at checkout to help me get the wood outside. However, once I finally did get the wood to the car, it was barely too large to fit in my vehicle, so I thought I could have them hold it until later so my friend with a large van could grab it. Come to find out, after they took the merchandise AND my receipt proving I paid the $30 with the intent of "putting it on hold", they told me to have a nice day and proceeded to re-shelve my purchased merchandise. When my friend went to pick up the wood, she was told "we put it back, so you just need to hope its still there". Long story short, next time you go to Home Depot, don't. They will take your money and re-shelve the product.

Ordered cabinets here and it has been a horrible experience. They completely lied about how long it would take to receive them (even though we knew about supply issues, they assured us it would not take more than 4-5 weeks to get them). They were delivered a week ago and we have discovered pieces that are broke and quite a few pieces are missing. When we have called (4 times in 6 days) we have to explain the situation to them each time because no one records what has happened - the person on the phone claims “this is the first time you have reported an issue.” Naturally they never call us back with an update. NEVER EVER order from Home Depot - especially the Cedar Rapids location.

I bought the wrong cover plate for my bathroom fan light. I didn't have my receipt and they refused to exchange the ones I bought( unopened) for the correct one which was more expensive! WTF! Just don't take anything back without a receipt cuz they will NOT take it back or exchange it!!!

I went to Home Depot to buy a Milwaukee tool as a gift for my boyfriend, along with some plants. I have gone to this Home Depot many times and for the majority I usually have a pretty good time there and am able to find the things I need. There have been some occasions where I don't find what I'm looking for but then I usually talk to someone working there and figure out where I can get what I'm looking for. Staff at this store are usually extremely helpful. Also, the store is pretty well-organized and clean. And in addition, they have a great Garden Center. I know I will return at some point again to this store! Overall, great experiences at this Home Depot!!

I will never spend another dime nor ever reccomend them. We tried to return a sink and faucet today. It was past the 90 period which is hidden in tiny little print on the original receipt, which we had. We simply changed our mind do to contractor issues post Derecho and went a different route. We were told by Jason that our only option was to take instore credit or if he so chose to, he could refuse to do anything. Pretty shady and unethical...

Horrible customer service. Save some grief and go to one of the other nearby stores like Menards or Lowe’s. Came to get an item, worker blocks off isle as I was about to enter. So, I was like ok, I’ll go around. I walk around to the other side and just as I was gonna go down the isle a worker blocks off the other end of the isle. They wanted the customer to wait. It’s 9 am. ?
