This review is about a single staff member, not the animals or facilities.I called today and asked about their feral cat program, and I misspoke when it's actually named the Barn Cat program. The woman on the phone could not understand I what I meant from context clues even though I was transferred to her after the first lady (very lovely) understood me and wired me to her.She was rude, condescending and had a huge attitude. While everyone is allowed to have bad days, never have I had such a unpleasant experience with a shelter staff worker. The lack of empathy that this woman had was the type you would experience with animal control, not a no-kill shelter that has many positive reviews. There is no excuse for that type of unprofessionalism in the workplace, please do better. If you don't like your job or where you volunteer, find a different place and don't take it out on others trying to do a good thing for the community.***If you are nasty to humans, I cant imagine how you act to those who cant speak.***It breaks my heart to leave a bad review here, but she's 100% not fit to answer calls for such a paw-sitive cause shelter. This call took place at 2:45pm on Wednesday December 6th 2023.))::

I have just started volunteering here and I enjoy it so much. The staff really cares about all the animals. They are friendly and very helpful. They keep documentation about each animal to help people have a compatible match. The place is very clean.I love going there and giving a dog time to frolic in the play yard with the toys and taking them for walks.

I know what was written here before, it was not very kind. This is attributed to not only post-event anger and pain, but also a lack of understanding. After receiving my email, which admittedly was even angrier, the director of this facility called my wife and I. We had a very heartfelt conversation and she took the time to explain to us why she had made the decision she did in regards to our cat. I do understand that none of these decisions are easy, and what previously felt like a pulling of the rug, was actually her trying to do what was in our cats best interest from their point of view, just as we were trying to do what was in her best interest from ours. With that understanding, and now knowing that they do in-fact weigh things with your pets best interests in mind, I have chosen to rewrite this and change the rating. Thank you for taking the time to call us and explain where you were coming from, it eases our minds greatly. As was stated, many times it is a thankless job trying to take care of all those animals with limited staff and limited resources. So thank you again for taking time out of your day to contact us.

We've adopted 2 wonderful cats from CVHS. Twiggy we adopted 4 years ago, she has just been such a light in our family. The perfect cat for us. On Aug. 1st I adopted a beautiful white cat (Snuggle) with heterochromia from them too and named her Yuna. She has such a sweet disposition and fits into my household perfectly. Yuna developed a UTI and they called their Vet Tech for me and gave me UTI meds for her for free. I love how they support adopters through the whole process and ensure the pet they adopted stays healthy. Staff and volunteers there are so extremely kind and helpful as well.

This place was amazing. We were having to say goodbye to our kitty Bobcat and they were so kind and understanding. They made a painful time in our life a little more bearable.

Absolutely awesome. They took in my two huge pit bull puppies without any problems. The establishment is always clean, and the staff gives off hospital vibes.

I went in and the lady in charge Amanda was extremely rude. I heard the way she talks to her employees while I was looking at animals and I would never allow someone like her in charge.

Went to the shelter to adopt a dog that has been returned and was given multiple reasons why she was returned. Then was given multiple reasons why I'm not good enough to adopt which had nothing to do with application I signed willing to fullfil the requirements. Also told my dog had passed away too soon before I applied I asked to be emailed the policy. It's days later I still feel horrible even management wouldn't help

Friendly and helpful staff that seem to love what they do! Been going for years to see animals and make donations. I now travel too much for a pet but love seeing people who love to help the animals <3

Went to pick up my two cats and the people on shift were extremely rude. Didnt tell me I needed a carrier and then demanded I pay for a carrier when I got there or I wouldn’t get my cats. Only because they wanted more money. They said all I needed was the 80$ to get them out. Originally I was told that it would be nothing to get them by the animal officer that picked them up. Never again.
