Wanted to adopt a kitten. Was in facility for a good 15 minutes. Many "employees" walked by us looking at some kittens, and not one of them asked if they could help us. Very disappointing

I've now adopted 3 wonderful cats from CVHS. Twiggy was adopted 4 years ago, she was the light of my life!! She stayed with my ex when we got divorced but is still twiggin around like she always does. On Aug. 1st I adopted a beautiful white cat (Snuggle) with heterochromia from them too and named her Yuna. She has such a sweet disposition and fits into my household perfectly. Yuna developed a UTI and they called their Vet Tech for me and gave me UTI meds for her for free. I love how they support adopters through the whole process and ensure the pet they adopted stays healthy. Staff and volunteers there are so extremely kind and helpful as well.
Updated my review just to say we adopted little Montee from CVHS to be a companion to my sweet Tuna back in December. This little adoptee my daughter sweetle named Canada. She was the runt of the litter of a pregnant stray that was brought into them.
Canada and Yuma are just the absolute best companions. They are Yin and Yang and often sleep curled together like the Yin Yang sign. Canada keeps my senior girl Yuna who is 7 still youthful and playful.
I have never had a single problem with any animal I have adopted at CVHS. Their staff is amazing and they really know how to introduce you to the perfect furry friend to join your family. Thank you CVHS for giving me 3 amazing fur babies to love on for the past 4 years <3

My wife and I just adopted two very cute 3 month old female kittens back on 7-10-2024 and we're so happy to have them in our lives. Shelly, ( office manager ) and the other staff members really helped us on what kittens we wanted to have. They came from different litters but were together at the same foster home and we knew we wanted them to stay together and that's why we chose both of them. They love playing and chasing each other and playing with their toys. They're definitely like sisters. We named them Roselyn ( Short hair black and white tuxedo with white paws and a cute white mustache ) and Mittsy ( Gray and yellow tiger stripe with white paws and especially her back paws that look like white boots ) and we love them very much. Thank you very much Cedar Rapids Humane Society for all your great help. A great big five stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I took my mom there today to adopt a cat. She lives alone because her cat past 2 weeks ago. Maggie was the one for her. Nice place wonderful people very friendly. Now she has a friend. Thank you for what you do. God bless you.

Very friendly and doing a great service for dogs for microchipping because the 4th of July is around the corner and alot of them get scared and run off. Got my Tucker microchipped today. He got a new toy to. Thanks very much

This is where I'm adopting my cat maw maw. The staff here is friendly and very knowledgeable and is working well with me through the process! I'm considering volunteering here when I have time.

We came in looking for another cat and fell in love with Pee Wee, now named Roger. Beyond elated that we were able to take him home with us. He has fit right in.
The staff was awesome. This was our second adoption from here and would highly recommend.

Our adopted cat Mr. S is the piece that has finished our little family. The CVHS was fantastic in making sure he was healthy and happy. They gave us as much information as possible about him before our adoption. Our family would highly recommend CVHS!!

My family and I absolutely got lucky with Felix Shakur. He is so loving and smart. My big ol baby travels with me while on the road. So far we have taken our first trip together and he started entertaining the guests at the hotel for treats. That's my road dog!
