The employees at this bank are atrocious and absolutely stuck up. Same old short haired lady runs it and she was rude back in 2016 when we first had moved here. For a small town, they should have more pride in the local bank and give everyone a warm and welcoming customer service, but I guess not there. We will never ever bank in our own town because of how rude she is. Also back in 2016 when the woman refused to notarize for my spouse, we hadn't known at the time, but she would read up on her notary laws because she broke Iowa Code.

I don’t know much about the banking or mortgage industry. I mean, I guess I was technically a bank teller at Wells Fargo after college, so I assume I know a little bit more than the average individual, but that is neither here nor there. What is most important is that working with Michael Garman at 1st State Bank has been an absolute pleasure. His communication, his honesty and everything else has been very refreshing. Shout out to Michael and I’m sure other people at the bank I’ve never met, you have made a complicated process very simple for me.

WOW!! Some of the rudest bank employees I have ever dealt with. I went in because I was in need of a notary, the first women proceeds to tell me that the lady that is the notary public for the establishment is on the phone, so I tell her I can wait, she tells me that she will be a quiet a long time on the phone. Then tells me that if I'm not a customer at the bank she probably won't do it, and adds that she can't do it anyway because she don't know me..... umm does this bank hire the "special" ones come on. So I move off to the side to wait after watching a lady just stand in her office watching some help another customer for a good 15 minutes, then me waiting quietly for another 10 minutes of her walking around she finally very rudely asks if I needed anything and before I could answer she informs me that she won't notarized anything for because I'm not a customer. I ask if that is true even though she is listed as a notary public for the state. She informs me that it doesn't matter it's policy. Well I recently moved to this small town and it would have been extremely convenient to bank in the same town as I live but after the rudeness and lack of intelligence I dealt with today I can easily say I will never become a member of that establishment, I wouldn't let them be the banker of a monopoly game.
