Brought my 07 chrysler aspen with an exhaust manifold leak. Alot of other shops don't want to get involved with the work that needs to be done in that certain area by the manifold. Kyle Barkmeier fixed it perfectly. Told me to drop it off yesterday morning and they called about 430pm yesterday and said it's was ready. And by God it was. Sounds perfect now! Thanks guys!

My family has used Barkmeier for years and years through generations. This shop will treat you fairly, and I've never met a more honest set of mechanics. Professional and courteous. I have since moved to Ankeny but will still make the drive to Boone to have my cars worked on here.

I DROVE my car there in March for them to fix its overheating and some times not starting. They fixed a small thing on it and that didnt fix it. Then they told us it would need a new engine. They quoted us $4000 for the engine and the labor to install it. They said they would be on the lookout for one and they would let us know when they found one, and if found a good deal on one to get it and they would put it in. So we left it there for them to find the part and fix it. I waited a couple weeks and called to check in. They were still looking for an engine and would call us before they did any work. Waited a few weeks. I called again. Same thing. Everytime I called, they confirmed my phone number. So it's been sitting in their lot at the shop since March waiting for them to fix it. I'd drive by and see it, until one night it wasn't in the spot it had been. I waited til the next day and called them the next day and they told me that Cyclone Car Credit had repoed it. I found that hard to believe since I make my payments EVERY 2 weeks and had never missed one. So I waited for them to open and went there and they told me that Barkmeiers called them claiming that they had been trying to get a hold of us and we weren't getting back to them and we weren't paying for the repair(the small one that they did in March). Cyclone paid them and towed the car to their lot. I talked to Cyclone and paid them the $60 since they paid the "repair cost" in order for them to tow the car to their lot. Barmeier had lied to me and told me that it was repoed. So they didn't fix my car(that they had since March), they hadn't been in contact with us(like they said they would), and they had the company I am buying the car from come take the car(that they lied about). If I could leave ZERO stars I would. They were so good in the beginning, I don't understand what happened. So now I have to have someone else do the repair that I had entrusted Barkmeier to do. If I had known they were going to screw us over, I would have taken my car elsewhere and gotten it fixed MONTHS ago!!

They told me when I could get in, how long it would take and how much it would cost. Then they got my car fixed. It got done within the time they said and on the low end of my estimate from them. I couldn't be happier!

I needed a jump start so I was just assuming $40-50 down the drain. I called Barkmeier (who we have used before) and he said he could come out immediately. He was true to his word and was there in minutes and got it running instantly. I was reaching for my check book, and he thought for a moment and said "$10". I had that much in my wallet. We will continue to use Barkmeier Auto Repair.
