Friendly people beside the dude named Eric who tried to pick up my dog when she has a massive tumor taking up her entire stomach making her react. I warned them she is very scared of the vet and she is peeing as im saying this he tries to pull her with a leash it doesn’t work so then he tries to pick her up which led to her nipping him and making contact. Never during the 12 years I taken her to a vet she never nipped anyone. Then after he failed to pick her up they go and get a special Leash to get her to move. I don’t understand why they didn’t use that leash in the first place instead I gotta deal with my dog being put down and now I gotta deal with more cus this dude named Eric tried to pick up my dog with a massive tumor in her stomach. Like I don’t understand why he tried picking her up in that condition. Make it make sense for me please cus it doesn’t ,then you used a rainbow like leash to pull her back just fine after he failed to pick her up why not do that in the first place. The whole situation is sketchy and you won’t return my calls or anything.

Never take your babies here. They will turn away an animal that is clearly dying all for the owner’s inability to pay up front.

We have driven two hours twice to the Animal Emergency Center of the Quad Cities because our local emergency hospital was either closed or not seeing any more patients that evening. I know there are staffing shortages, but it does make it difficult if not life threatening. Both times we have been treated with the utmost respect and compassion at the Quad Cities Center. I truly wish they were closer. Upon arrival, our girl was immediately taken to the back to assess whether or not her condition was life threatening. While examining her (and x-ray), they found a problem we were completely unaware existed and was no doubt the cause of her symptoms. We are now able to zero in on that and, hopefully, help her. Did we have to wait a bit to talk with the vet? Yes, but it was not hours. Perhaps we arrived at a time when they were not horribly busy. Again, I wish they were closer as I would not hesitate to return if needed. Thank you to the Dr. and the staff for taking care of our precious girl and for being so kind to us. Blessings to you all.

Amy is amazing! I’m a nursing student and I struggle with money due to living on my own. She answered every question I’ve had and she was very kind. I even called 10 times and she answered every time. Didn’t get annoyed of me one bit either. I really appreciated her. 10/10 recommend

Two weeks ago, on a Sunday, our sweet pittie took a really bad turn for the worst and we knew it was time to let her go.
Being a Sunday we didn't really have much choice of where to take her but the staff at the Animal Emergency Center was amazingly patient and kind and took care of us and our sweet girl. They explained everything, gave us as much time as we needed both before and after and were incredibly compassionate. We truly appreciate them.

I have used this vet on two occasions and they got my cat in immediately in the middle of the night (both emergencies).
If you need a vet near the Quad Cities when your vet is closed, call them asap.

Had to bring my sweet girl down Friday night, unfortunately my old gal had somewhat collapsed and was having a hard time moving and was breathing very hard, we arrived and were greeted very pleasantly, we were quickly told her abdomen was full of blood. We then made the hard choice to let her go! The vet and his team were amazing every step of the way! They prepared us for every step! We miss our sweet girl so much but feel relieved knowing they quickly got her out of pain! I would ? recommend this clinic if you have an emergency, thank you for making the worst night of my life as good as it could be!

i do not recommend coming here. i called 6 times because my dog had gotten into the trash and a few hours later was vomiting, falling over into the walls, lethargic, rapid breathing, and his eyes were rolled back into his head. i received no answer or call back, and i was so concerned my dog was going to die, that we just drove there anyways. they took our dog back immediately. we waited in the waiting room for 3 hours with nothing, no update on how our dog was doing back there. my boyfriend walked up and asked the receptionist if we could please have an update on our dog, she said go sit down i’ll talk to you in a minute. we waited almost 40 minutes for her to come talk to us. she went back to check on him and all she said was “your dog is taking a nap”. i’m not a karen by any means, nor do i get mad at employees for long wait times, but this is ridiculous. a lady with a rescued cat was in and out before us although we were there way before her and she was just trying to get it checked for a microchip. if you pride yourselves on seeing pets with life threatening emergencies before anything else, follow through at least. we finally got taken back to a room, it was FREEZING cold in there. at this point we had been there for 4 hours without seeing our dog and no tests or even exams or anything done. (i get it, there might have been more life threatening emergencies) but lord!!! we are exhausted, hungry, freezing, and just wondering what is going on with our dog. took 45+ minutes each time in between the vet tech coming in and out of the room, first two times to ask questions and tell us they’ll be doing the exam, okay, almost 5 hours at this point. we’re now just waiting for her to come back so we could tell her if he’s fine we just wanna go, i get it, it’s an emergency room and it gets busy but damn, it gets to a certain point where it’s just kind of ridiculous. also kind of annoying that a cat that “wasn’t acting herself” and a cat that wasn’t even theirs, they just wanted it checked for a microchip, was in and out when they came after me and they are certainly not as severe. ended up just asking them to get our dog back after 5 hours because doctor was just now grabbing our chart. once again i get that you’re an emergency room but damn.
update: had to go back because as soon as our dog got brought home he was unresponsive. they took him and us back right away. waited an hour for the vet to come back and tell us she did the exam and he’s mentally incapacitated and not responding to visual stimuli, and unfortunately tell us she doesn’t know what it is, i get it, also we were on a budget but just simple bloodwork would be $300 and i wouldn’t have enough for treatment after, not everyone can be approved for care credit. he’s a 6 month old puppy and got bloodwork last month and has been healthy up until this point, so we’re just assuming it’s a toxin and gave him fluids and anti nausea to hopefully let it run its course. he’s home now just sleeping and not really doing much of anything, let’s hope he’s okay.

I unfortunately had to visit the ER with my chocolate lab Moose. He has a history of allergic reactions/anaphylaxis after being stung by certain insects. Immediately upon our arrival, staff was polite, attentive, and timely with our furry beloved family member. Dr Bruce was excellent with Moose, got onto his level, and explained everything extremely well. He also was very thorough. Thank you to the amazing staff members and Dr. Bruce for the excellent care. Hopefully we do not need these services in the future but if we do we will be returning here.

This ER literally saved my dog Felonys life. She started with what we thought was a UTI. Took her to a vet on a Friday afternoon and found out she had a pyometra. Had never heard of it before but that was why she started passing blood. They could not do the emergency surgery she needed cause of the time of day. So they sent us to the Bettendorf ER and they performed the surgery. We were extremely scared and didn't think we would be able to afford the ER. They gave us a high estimate and Dr Bruce performed the surgery and that and the recovery went so well it ended up costing less than a regular vet. But most importantly was the care they took of Felony. The staff is tremendous and kept us informed. Would recommend them to anyone. This happened in January this year so long overdue review. Special thanks to Maddie the tech that I thought was going to end up keeping Felony ? When I picked her up she told me with a laugh that Felony was one of the laziest dogs she knew and I told her she was the definition of a bulldog for sure. Thank you to the whole staff for everything you did. We could not have been happier with the experience and Felony got home and three days later didn't have a clue anything unusual happened. Hopefully we won't need you again but if we do we know where to go. You saved what is like a child to us. Thank you.

I brought my dog in to have emergency surgery today for a hysterectomy and after being there for three hours they came in and said that she had breast cancer and they recommend that I put her down instead, even though everything showed that she was healthy enough to have surgery. They were full of excuses for not doing the surgery and I believe they just wanted to kill my dog instead. When they brought me my dog back to say goodbye to her she was happy and didn’t look like she wanted to die. Saddest thing ever to have to kill my family member because she had breast cancer. I wanted her to be saved not murdered.

My kitten was injured and I was crying so much, afraid he would have to be put down, after going through s recent death of a significant other and my 15 yr. old cat. The staff and Dr. Benge were so kind, and a staff member whose name I didn’t get gave me a comforting hug, as I was still crying after finding out he would be okay.
The staff at this facility had previously saved the life of my previous cat after a dog mauling, so I knew they would do their best. I was afraid I’d have severe financial repercussions, but thank all that’s good, it didn’t happen. We are so lucky to have this emergency off-hours vets facility; most areas don’t.

Took my cat here after she ripped her stitches after her spaying. Was a very packed night, but staff worked very efficiently and effectively to get everyone taken care of.

Dr. Hughes was amazing, we can't speak highly enough of her. There are a few people on this earth that find their true calling and she is one of them- our dog absolutely loved her. She got right on the floor with her and made her feel so comfortable with the exam. Reassured us as well. Highly recommend!
