Good food, free showers, full service maintenance facilities, friendly people and a clean and well kept facility. So far so good in the six years this place has been in business, and among truck stops, an increasing rarity.
The family-owned Waspy's Truck Stop in Audubon, Iowa, opened in 2018. The 16+ acre site features a convenience store with Grab & Go Kitchen, secure parking, a gas station with various fuel options ranging from diesel fuel to regular and premium unleaded to flex fuels, a truckers' lounge (with free showers and laundry), certified scale, an RV waste station & more. Also on-site is Waspy's Truck Wash, a car wash, Audubon Diesel, The Feed Mill Restaurant and Blue Grass Inn & Suites. The truck stop is open 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. and the Grab & Go Kitchen is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The truck wash offers bio-secure wash outs, trailer rinses and disinfectants. It can serve semis, buses, RVs, lifestock trailers, farm equipment and more.
