I called at 3:33 p.m. to have internet restored. It's been a rough year with the kids mom passing so soon and some bills are hard to pay on time when that second income is gone. With that being said I was $1 short I'm having internet turned back on and the lady told me there's nothing she could do, which is a lie because two months prior I had a similar situation over $2.68. I was told as long as I called back before 4 p.m. that she could process it and I would be good to go or I can call the one 877 number which is after hours and they would be able to process it and it automatically goes and I would be restored. I call at 3:57, 358, 359, end at 4. The phone rang and rang and rang at 57 58 + 59 and then the automated at 4 because they were now closed. So then I called the 877 number and wait 42 1/2 minutes out that they can receive payment but it won't be restored till the following day. Now I get some things and paying on time or that last minute call in I get sometimes that might be able to be nerve-wracking but I don't judge because you don't know what's going on in people's lives to make that happen. I feel like I got completely hosed here buy a very rude lady that I spoke to previously on the phone for no reason at all whatsoever actually.. you shouldn't tell people when they call in to Maquoketa Valley Electric that your hours are till 4 p.m. when you're going to sit there knowing the phone is ringing and purposely not answer it. Completely unprofessional!

As far as the new fiber optic internet goes, works great, however when the system fails they are in no rush to fix it. Be prepared to wait days ! Unacceptable

Thank you to your great service workers. I have had two outages in the past weeks due to storms. Last night they were here within an hour! 1:30 AM! They even back out of my long curvy lane so as not to tear up anything.
