Needed a million large boxes for some returns. Jalen was absolutely phenomenal in his customer service and work ethic. Would highly recommend this location to anyone. Hope he is recognized for his commitment to customer care and satisfaction!

This location is EXTREMELY understaffed. I booked a cargo van for one day to move a desk that I had bought, and when I went to pick it up I tried going through the mobile checkout process. Once I started that, U-Haul's system told me that a van had not been assigned to my reservation, even though the system gave me a "reservation guarantee" through the process and even though there was clearly a cargo van sitting in the parking lot. I asked the one staff member that was working there for help, and although he was nice and helpful, he made no attempt to look at the online system on his end and try to figure out what happened. He just said, "I don't know what to tell you, we don't have any vans."I then called the U-Haul customer service line and they switched my reservation to a 15' truck for the same price as the cargo van and gave me a $50 refund for the "reservation guarantee." That was nice, but the whole experience still created a lot of unnecessary hassle.As I was checking the truck out via the mobile process, the staff member at this location eventually came out after he was done helping other customers to see if I needed anything. He then saw the cargo van sitting there and said to me, "Oh, why didn't you tell me there was a van out here?"1) Shouldn't that be something you know? Or, at the very least are able to find out by checking the reservation system to see if a van had been checked back in???2) How am I supposed to know if that van was available for me to take or not? For all I know, it could have been reserved by somebody else. I have to go off the word of the staff member in front of me (who, again, is a perfectly nice dude but who is also making zero attempts to check anything in the store's system).Very disappointing and frustrating process.

My friend from Florida has this storage unit and she got told it got broken into and they had to put a new lock on it and therefore said the key to the unit was in the office. When she came back to Iowa a couple years later to get her stuff from the unit no one had any idea what was going on. Turns out they lost the key to her unit. The service was awful, even the manager of the place was not helpful. They treated us like we were burdens when they were the ones that lost the key. A very unfortunate experience.

I will never rent from uhaul again. I rented a truck and got the insurance to protect my property and the roof ended up leaking on it causing 7k in damages and they denied the claim. Nothing but a waste of money.

I needed to rescue my broke down motorcycle from the side of the road and my dude, Eli, helped us with the whole dang trailer operation. Eli added so much sunshine to my day and ease to a stressful situation. Give the man a raise and throw him a party, please!

Due to an unfortunate circumstances I had to move it off my place in 48hrs. The staff here were beyond helpfull and understanding. I lost my lock keys and they were so understanding and helped me out. Espically Eli who was ever so patient and understanding. All this made my terrible situation so much more bearable. Thank you so much.

Horrible communication between store, dispatch, assistance, and charged for extra days. Lost the uhaul key, store did not have extra key for our truck. Had to pay 300+ for a replacement key from roadside assistance was quoted 120 minutes, lock smith did not come to make key until 2 1/2 days later. Would have hated if I was actually in an accident. Then was charged for the extra 2 days we had to wait on the key after being quoted 120 minutes the first day. During this time they also told us that the UHaul was stolen and missing but it never left the spot it was sitting in. They also charged us for 2 trucks when we only had one until we noticed the mistake ourselves. Overall one of the worst experiences I have ever had between the store, roadside assistance, customer support, and the locksmith.

Ive had a storage unit since 2020 i moved out.of iowa in 2020 and currently live over 12 hours awayThey were horrible about updating ny address ive called multiple times over the years. Also had the wromg email on file multiple times after updating i gave up about a year ago trying to fix it.Multiple issues with late fees even when payment has been made.Worst of all they dont answer when you need them.My grandfather passed away july 7 2023. And i had to clean out this storage it had some of his things in there.I went on Saturday the 22nd and was locked out of the unit due to firgeting to arm it. It was after hours i called multiple uhaul lines.for help couldn't get any. Couldnt find an after hours number for emergencies either.I had to leave at 5am the next day. So i called multiple time sunday and Monday only to be sent to the automated line over 30 times! I lost furniture that i needed.i called today on july 25th. Wantong to work with them hoping they would work with me. I could hear a person in the background speaking very rudely. Also i didnt even get to explain the situation because i got so upset. I left my name and number. They charged my card without notice. Which wouldn't have been an issue if they communicated. But they did not. I called to asked about the charge a lady named tasha answered very rudely. And basically refused to work with me until i hung up on her and she called me back willing to work with me. But i will never do business woth uhaul again and will make sure to let everyone in ames know not to go to them.They want to charge me for leaving things in the unit but were not willing to cooperate even when i was willong to find someone to help. until i got upset and even now i dont see them cooperating. If i could give 0 stars i would.

The staff at this location was top notch. I also very much like the app for setting up reservations but none of this would be possible without the great staff.
