The staff at Treats on a Leash are always welcoming, knowledgeable & helpful. My cat has a chicken allergy & they helped me order special food for her. My dog also loved their Easter basket bag — the toys & treats! I love shopping local at this pet store. 10/10 I highly recommend.

We were in Ames for an extended period and needed a specific product for our 13YO Labradoodle. We came to the right place, as Treats on a Leash gave us solid customer service, answered all of our questions, and helped us select a probiotic that was a positive addition to our dog's daily feeding. They have a super selection and don't push you. Instead, they are pleasant, and this is a great reflection of owner Michael Morris, who we met on this visit and could not have been kinder. We appreciated his staffer, who was so nice and extremely knowledgeable. Plenty of street parking on Ames' Main Street!

I love this store! The staff is nice everytime you stop in. I have a yellow lab that is thrilled everytime I come home with their little bakery treats. They are so well done they look like cookies for people! Really cute. I stopped by today and got her some cookies. The girl working was really nice. I am so happy this shop is here. When I come to ames and want to spoil my pup I come here!

Treats on a Leash is awesome! Good selection of chews that are healthy and keep our dogs busy. They also have a lot of cute bakery treats that our pets are obsessed with! The staff is always very friendly and helpful when we stop in. I love that Ames has a cute local pet shop!!! I definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the Main Street area.

Awesome helpful staff! Had my 2 boxers in on 2/18/23 and the staff helped with a game, a rug, and let us try out a new leash for one boy who pulls too hard when walking. The leash is amazing! Can't wait to come back!

Everything you hope for in a local pet store! I've been coming to Treats on a Leash since moving to Ames and I am so thankful a shop like this exists in Ames. The owners and staff members are all so friendly and helpful. I've been helped by their recommendations and have even had an owner give me a call when I was looking for a specific type of product and they helped me find it. I recommend buying your food from them as well, they have a great selection. And of course they have items like toys and treats too (for dogs and cats). Shop local for your furry friend!

I love this store. Cute, unique and has everything you and your pet could want. Prices are reasonable and I like that it is pet friendly. Just keep in mind, that it is a small store. If your pet doesn't like other pets then maybe skip their personal visit.

What a great locally owned business that goes above and beyond to satisfy customers and their fur babies. The free local delivery has saved me more than once when I have needed food or trays in a bind. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
