“It was easy to access when moving out of one apartment and storing for the summer before we could move our daughter into her new apartment. Clean and comfortable temps as both times we moved it was very warm outside. The only issues that we had, is there are not enough moving carts when it is busy, and that is just want happens, and the back elevator didn't work, and we had a unit all the way at the back of the building.”

“Been using this storage company for several years altogether. When I ended my original contract (new home had a garage) we didnt need this for a while. Come a year or so later our business kept growing so naturally we needed more space for our equipment but also personal use overflow.Both times when we have left one contract, or switched to another have been easy. Communication with management has never been an issue and they have always been gracious to give us time when transitioning between units.Anyone who lives in Ames knows there are plenty of storage companies, but it's difficult to find one that is as easy to communicate with as I've experienced. Being a small business owner, it makes a significant difference having to ability to actually communicate with a person and not a computer.Thanks again.”

“100% would recommend! I reserved a unit before our moving truck arrived, and when it got there I realized we needed a bigger unit - they let me change instantly with no hassle and no extra fees. Then, we ended up totally emptying our unit earlier than expected. They could’ve held me to the contract to pay a whole extra month since I didn’t give any notice, but I called to explain the situation, and they graciously didn’t charge us for the next month. The actual unit (temperature-controlled) was also nice and we didn’t have any problems, but by far the best thing was their service!”

“Hutson Rentals is a straight-up good business. They have rental units that are safe, dry, and accessible 12 months a year, They have medium prices that are worth it due to their convenient location in East Ames. They offer convenient billing via credit card. Safety at this facility is reinforced by an active business on the property that operates this storage operation. Steamway is a very active company and their comings and going of vehicles and people make it a very bad target for crime or theft in the storage area. I felt safe storing family heirlooms at my unit. I had to access my storage unit 12 months a year (for 1+ years) and they always had a center scoop down the access alley within a day or two when snow was flying. Yeah sure, I scooped a couple bits of snow within 2 feet of my door but I expected that. My rental unit was clean and dry upon arriving and never had any moisture throughout my 1+ year rental. I made sure it was just as good upon my departure - just because it served me well. There were pallets/skids available to me which I took advantage of. I also grabbed some new ones from various sources and left them there for future renters. The staff was very pleasant with any billing or safety issues. Yeah, I know - it's just a storage locker but they actually care about their renters. I'm not familiar or can remember their names but I was impressed by the staff at Hutson Rentals. This is where you want to store your stuff.”
