Pepper’s Pawfection did an amazing job on my sweet boy Shadow! He looks fantastic and they must have done his nails for him too because they were nicely rounded off leaving no rough edges which is great for when he’s excited and jumps! Thank you Pepper, and your team!!!!

This was my first time coming to Pepper's. I have a rescue dog with some behavioral issues. They were amazing with him! He looks fabulous, smells fabulous, and seemed very happy. The staff were great at listening to my concerns and even helping understand how to care for his coat in between grooms since this is a breed's coat I'm unfamiliar with. I couldn't be more pleased!

There were some communication problems on scheduling/info and it's unclear whose fault that was but we got it worked out. This was the first time here for our dog, who usually is "weird" for a day or two after grooming, but she was her happy go lucky self when I picked her up. That tells me she was treated well. It is curbside drop off but you can see in their huge windows. They did exactly as I asked and at a price comparable with other groomers in the area. The staff who I talked with was very kind and had a positive attitude. We will be return customers.

My golden is 5 and I’ve been taking him to a groomer for the past 3 years every single month, well I decided to try Peppers here in Ames because I go to college at isu and figured it’d be easier than driving him back home. They communicated with me pretty well getting my appointment set up and etc but when I went to take my dog I found out they don’t let you go inside which I found very odd and I’m not really a fan of as I had never even talked or met the groomer/owner, I went along with it and was okay with how my dog was groomed especially for just $75 verses $120+ but just think it allowed for a lot of miscommunication between staff and groomer, don’t think I got the groom I asked for, and I just don’t like dropping my dog off somewhere without at least meeting the person handling him or seeing the inside of the building. My dog also didn’t act right for about a day after his groom and his whole stomach had clipper burns on it when I got him home so I’m not sure what went on but once again don’t like that I wasn’t able to meet and talk to the actual groomer or see the inside of the building. I see many people have had great experiences with Peppers so maybe it was just my bad luck.

I took my longhaired cat here because this was one of the only places in Ames that said they groom cats. I got him back and it was extremely uneaven and choppy, and it wasnt even brushed out. I feel like I was way overcharged for what I got and I will not be going back.

I got my longhaired cat groomed here as this was one of the only places in ames that grommed cats. I asked for a trim, and when I got him home it was extremely uneaven and not even brushed out. I'm extremely upset, and I feel they wayyyy overcharged for what I got. I will not be coming back here.

BEWARE OF THIS GROOMER! I gave Peppers Pawfection a rating of 1 only because there was not a MINUS TEN to choose as a rating! This used to be a good place to have your dog groomed! We took our other dogs there for many years. But now that has changed completely. In the past, she would groom our 85# dogs in 2 hrs., but the last 3 times it has taken between 3 and 4 hours for our 25# dog to be groomed, and I had to call each time to see if he was ready to pick up. Each time I would be told to come later. This last time my husband dropped our Welsh Terrier off at 8 am, and I did not find out until my husband came home in the afternoon that 6 dogs had been dropped off at 8 am for grooming. Peppers only has 3 grooming stations, so I believe that she has a GROOMING MILL going now and is only interested in the money. Furthermore, I got worried about him when it was close to 3 hours and went over there, only to discover that he wasn't groomed and I had to go back an hour later. I realize now that they did all his grooming and bath in that hour. After getting him home, he kept licking his paws all the time, was limping, holding up one of his paws, and did not want to go for walks anymore. He also flinched if we touched him and he did not see our hands first, and he has never done any of these things. Upon examining his paws, I discovered that THEY HAD NOT ONLY DONE A BAD JOB, THEY HAD INJURED HIM! In between all his toes, his skin was bright red and one was bleeding. He was obviously abused, and he is now anxious and fearful of things where he never was before. So we have to take him to the veterinarian because he now needs medical care because of the abuse he sustained while being groomed! I THINK THAT WHEN A GROOMER PUTS MONEY AHEAD OF THE CARE OF THE ANIMAL AND HARMS THEM INSTEAD, THAT THEY HAVE NO BUSINESS GROOMING ANY ANIMAL!!! SO IF YOU TAKE YOUR PET TO PEPPERS, KNOW YOU ARE DOING SO AT YOUR OWN RISK AND THE RISK OF YOUR PET! We will never be back! Lyn W.

Staff was very friendly, they did a great job handling my pup who is terrified of getting his nails trimmed. He was still a little damp when I picked him up but he dried the rest of the way before we even got home. I wish they didn't do curbside, but otherwise exceptional overall!

Peppers Pawfection always does a wonderful job with our corgi. We had struggled to find a groomer who would work with a difficult pup, but the amazing staff at Peppers really stepped up and exceeded our expectations. After working at getting her used to everything that goes into grooming and nail trimming, our dog LOVES going to get groomed and always comes back looking great!
