Super cute store, the clothes are super nice and high quality. I did find it uncomfortable however that we were followed around the store (I’m guessing to watch for shop lifting). I understand the concern but it was frustrating and made me feel out of pocket. Everyone was friendly just made me feel uncomfortable.

I have had a couple really great experiences at Moorman Clothiers over the past couple years. Most recently I got a jacket for a wedding tailored by them, they got it done exactly when they said and at a very reasonable price. The owner and staff were super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful with sizing/measuring for me. This store is a great local asset!

The woman working there would not listen to me that the size of Sports Coat she had me try on was too tight. I could barely move my arms before the fabric was reaching its limit, and the top barely buttoned. Instead of just listening to me and finding a slightly bigger size where I would feel comfortable she doubled down that it was the right size. I love supporting local businesses, but I'll spend my money where they listen to their customers.

I was sort of in a pinch, daughter's wedding was closing in fast and the staff hooked me up with a great suit, shirt, and tie. Will recommend and be back.

Stopped in because I was in need of a new suit. I was greeted when I walked in the door. The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We found a jacket that I liked then they showed me some different options for slacks and shirts. Especially helpful since I am color blind and have no sense of style. They were even able to accommodate my having to leave town in a day or two. A big thank you to everyone for making the experience so easy.

I have continued to buy business, business casual and golf attire at Moorman's in Ames for at least the last decade. Service has always been above average and personal. They will order sizes or alter most clothes. Great selections from Mizzen and Main, Johnston and Murphy, Johnnie O, Tommy B Peter Millar to name a few. They have added some Lulelemon clothing too. If you are in the business world or just looking to upgrade your suit selection, button up shirts or golf look, this is a fantastic men's store in downtown Ames I would recommend. Quality is worth it.

We chose to work with Moorman's for our wedding last minute after having a bad experience with another shop. We came to them on short notice, however we were put immediately at ease. We were assured that we had well enough time to get the suits in and that everything would work out just fine. It did! Each time we came in to take another groomsman for measurements or to check on things, the people at the desk were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about everything. They were the most professional suit rental place we had ever encountered. If a measurement taken from a different store for our groomsmen seemed off, they would make sure to tell us and have it done correctly by them. The results were fantastic. All of the suits for the groom, groomsmen, ushers, and dads came in fitting perfectly with the correct shoe sizes/colors, tie/bow tie colors, and everything just as we had ordered them. They came on time with no hassle or stress. We were blown away by the professionalism and ease of working with this shop, especially on short notice. Make sure to try Moorman's for every suit rental need!

I will not conduct in future business with Moorman Clothiers, nor will I recommend them to anyone. It would be worth the drive to the Des Moines area instead of using Moorman's in Ames. A wedding I was involved in got eight (8) suits from Moorman's. Out of the 8 suits only 3 were expectable. For $170 per suit I would expect things to be nice and professional and they were not. One suit had a tear in a pant leg. One suit was completely forgotten and not ordered. Two suits did not have have cuff links and shirt studs. The last suit was completely the wrong size in all the components. They did attempt to correct the suit that was sized incorrect the day of the wedding but it still did not correctly fit the individual. Multiple trips had to be made back to the store the morning of the wedding because Moormans did not send all items with the person running the errands. When returning the suits frustration was conveyed on how things were done and the employees had no remorse and did not seem to care. This day was supposed to be the bride and grooms day, however the experience with Moorman Clothiers did nothing but add un-needed stress.

They have a sign out saying they carry lululemon. I went in there just to look and the employees watched me like a hawk as if I was going to steal. They stood outside of the dressing room as I was trying clothes on and when I got out immediately asked how it was. They were also pretending to “work” but I kept seeing them side eye me. I guess I’ll wear more expensive clothes next time. Don’t go in looking “poor”. Not to mention go to an actual lululemon store. They cross out what it’s supposed to cost and put their own price on it right on the tag.

Fantastic place to shop for more high end clothing, but they will also tailor your clothing for you! My friend and I went in here to shop for winter coats and we found gorgeous coats that could last a lifetime. The staff member was immediately helpful and showed us what we were looking for the moment we walked through the doors!
