The café at this location needs new management! Twice i have been to this café. First time Breakfast platter was luke warm and bacon was burnt. And today they forgot the main ingredient to the same platter!! Unfortunately I did not notice until I was already home. Sorry but kitchen cook needs to go back to school. I will not eat at this establishment ever again. I also feel the prices are getting ridiculous! My family and I just moved back here from living on the west coast. In hopes of staying away from price gouging. I was wrong its here to!! What happened????

They should keep more Halal items, such as beef, chicken, and lamb meat, processed food, and relevant Asian and Mediterranean food, so that 11th-grade students will benefit from getting their preferred groceries and stocks.

Store is clean and fairly well stocked. Most employees are great as well. But the prices in this store just keep going up and up it's not worth shopping there or any hyvee anymore for anything more than a convenience factor.

Well 2nd bad experience in 30 days at west hyvee ames iowa. They refused my WIC card for milk. I called wic as this us all new to me. Hyvee was wrong my card balance hasn't been used at all. They should have honored it and did not. They discriminated against me making me pay cash, when I couldn't afford to. So..... no milk.

If you need it you can find it here. Hy-Vee stays well stocked with a nice bakery and grille. They have vegan and wholesome options as well as the hyper processed foods many people buy.
They have vegan produce section is really nice and fresh all the time. The store stays clean and usually friendly. They cater to students in the liquor section which is extensive.
A great place to shop. It’s not a green grocery thought like much of the rest of the states. Iowa in general seems slow to understand the need to reduce plastics.
They don’t advocate for reuse and renewables like the better options for Earth stewards do. They seem uninterested in providing a shopping experience that caters to protecting the resources we all share. Where being renewable is as godly as sustainability. The shift to reduced plastics is key to everyone’s best interest.
There used to be no debunking that truth but here they just ignore the reality that to be better we need to change what doesn’t work. In that way they seem stuck.
After shopping here for years they still are in a disposable mindset. It’s kinda sad really because Earth is our home.
I hold out hope though that one day they will gain some understanding about things that transcend this disposable gas guzzling world that is driving all to ruin.
Nary an EV charger in sight as they pump filthy gas from a system that causes cancer, disease and ruin not just from the pumps but the tailpipes.
If they at least tried but they seem to not care about the way we must evolve to survive the folly of our past mistakes about total dependence on fossil fuels and polluting our water with trash and plastics..
But maybe one day I can give them a five star instead of a four. But for know the good shop options are dragged down by their limited perspective compared to other options to shop.
I’m not sure why they are so shallow in their understanding about being good at preservation and reducing overconsumption of toxic waste.
I’m still hoping they will begin to be a leader going forward instead of an anchor dragging us all backward. Every little bit of consciousness about protecting and preserving Earth is vital to everyone’s best interest.
Good luck Hy-Vee. I hope you get a clue and buy a vowel about how the buck stops right here, right now. The time for pretending that you can offer just a disposable mindset is not sustainable.
But with so much good in store you could get there if you try. I hope you try harder to set a good example and become more green oriented for the good of your customers and our world we all share.

Store is clean. I was looking for a specific item, had to find a Mgr after asking several employees who were no help at all. Even the store Mgr had trouble locating. The item I was seeking was a chili seasoning packet. It was difficult to even speak with a Mgr. I asked someone to page a Mgr they said they would but never did. I stood up front waiting for 10 min. I finally asked someone else to page a Mgr. The Mgr acted like I was wasting time of theirs. I just live one block from store so I'm hoping for a better experience going forward.
