Don't get locked out of your online account during the weekend. They don't offer any support, even through the 800 number.

Ever since Great Western got bought out by these guys I have had my card frozen twice in the span of six months, most recently during the holiday season when the branch in Ames conveniently closed for what seemed like a week straight, right through when rent and utilities were due and on top of poorly-timed car repairs.This never happened under Great Western. Trying to reach the bank is the equivalent of screaming into the void and hoping for a response some days, with almost every phone number provided on the cards resulting in an automated message that basically says they can't help you.

Stopped at the bank on Friday, Dec 30th @ 4PM and it was closed. Its now Monday, January 2nd and its still closed. I understand it was New Years, but really 4 days to celebrate it. Do these people realize that rent, and utility companies still take payments out of account regardless of day? So the bank should be considerate that people still need to make deposits specially towards the end and beginning of every month.

Once this bank was acquired it went from perfect, to an absolute dumpster fire. Let's say you work a regular 9-5 day job. Good luck doing anything you need at this bank, they are open those exact hours. I basically have to call out of work or use my whole lunch to deposit a check. Closed Saturdays as well? This is like a huge middle finger to the working class who work those hours or longer. Also the delays on things are ridiculous. I could deposit a check from work an have access to the money the same day. Now I have to wait. Seriously considering shopping around for a better ace to house my money and funds. Also don't call me asking to somehow fix my review. Take the criticism and eat one

I've been a GWB customer since childhood, and I have always been happy with their service. But, their limited hours make it hard for the average person to get in to the bank. If you want to serve people you need to be open when they're off work.

Do not get a loan here. I asked for a refi they said no got a better loan down the street and first interstate/great western charged me a prepayment penalty. Nothing but a bunch of crooks

Since the change in company there have been multiple mistakes made on my acct. I have also left multiple messages to check on the status of my new debit card, since mine was canceled due to fraudulent activity, with no response from the local branch.

I’ve been using Great Western for years, and the location in Ames is wonderful! I deposit cash at least once a week here and the service is always friendly and fast!
