We had 3 vehicles that needed routine oil changes, we were tired of taking them to a quick shop to have it done so we googled places in Ames & found Fix It Auto & liked what we read under the reviews, so we made an appointment & were extremely happy with their services, they are very thorough. On 1 of our vehicles they found a few things that needed attention & communicated that to us & gave us the option to have them go ahead & replace these things or wait, on the 2nd vehicle they found something that was totally empty so they went ahead & pressure tested it & put fluid back in it & explained to us what they found & told us to keep an eye on it (very appreciative) we bring our 3rd vehicle in this week, we feel we found a place that cares & that will help us maintain our vehicles & the other nice thing is they were very reasonable on the pricing for their services & we will continue to take our vehicles to them.

I took my car here after having okay experiences with other places in Ames and having Fix It recommended to me by a friend. I was able to get my car in quickly, and my car was ready in just one day! It drives perfectly now. I’d recommend this place to anybody, but especially any college students with their parents far away and unable to help find a shop. They explained everything to me in a way that I would understand, and gave all pricing/fees before I gave them the go ahead. 10/10 work and customer service.

I have been a loyal customer of Fix it Auto since I started college ant Iowa State over 3 years ago. They have saved me so many times, are honest about what’s wrong and will never start on a job without letting you know what they are doing and what the pricings are going to be. They are very good pricing wise especially for how good of work they do. I have never had a problem or had to bring my Volvo in after they have fixed something on my car, they truly do it right the first time. The customer service is amazing, and you can tell it is a family environment when you go in. They have treated me so so well over the last 3 years and as long as a I live in Ames, I will definitely keep going to Fix it Auto. Love love them!

Efficient and friendly staff! Took my Nissan Altima to get checked for an oil leak. They fixed the issue within a day. Dropping off and collecting the car was hassle free. They also recommended a follow up 2 weeks after.

Great place. They are honest and don't jerk you around. My car needs a lot of work, they told what needs to be done first and what can wait. If there a couple possible solutions to the problem, they will suggest the less expensive option first. Great people. I have a Honda and they were suggested by another shop because they know foreign vehicles. Definitely will be using them from now on.

Fix It Auto Repair is a top notch, first class business! My Subaru needed an emergency repair and I was three hours from home! Charlie accommodated me and kept me on schedule! Charlie even called me the next day to make sure that I got home safely!

VERY HAPPY! Had to find new mechanic when mine closed shop and retired. I trusted my race car driver co-worker when he recommend Charlie Brown and Fix It! My friend stated Charlie is fair, honest, and will not suggest unneeded work to jack up the bottom line. I found this to be true when Fix-It changed my truck oil earlier this summer.
They quoted me a fair price for installed hydraulic lifts (struts) to replace my broken ones that have not held up the topper lid for a long time Once parts arrived, they told me to stop in and while I waited; they changed my world. In no time, , they installed the new struts on my topper lid. No longer propping up topper lid with a spade!
Besides a no- nonsense approach to auto repair; the atmosphere in the office is welcoming and friendly. The shop is clean and visible to the customer..
I am sticking with the mechanic team at Fix-It and that makes me feel safe.
