The staff was pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was very good and well stocked. Hotel was very clean. There was plenty of parking and the location was convenient. Nightly rate was good for the stay.

This hotel is passably clean, and the shower water pressure is good. That's the star it earned.They also believe that a broken elevator is just a "minor inconvenience" to a person in crutches with a broken foot and assign them a room on the top floor. The couch in the suite has some unknown stains. The stairwells aren't clean (likely due to extra usage from broken elevator). The beds aren't comfortable. The bathroom walls have some poorly-repaired cracks.The front desk attendants are polite but not trained in any sort of problem resolution, and the manager is consistently unavailable.I recommend staying anywhere else in Ames.

Very comfortable place to stay with very friendly staff.Parking was not easy with a motorcoach. The only place to park was in the lot of another Marriott next door, but due to a change in owners, that Marriott refused to allow reciprocal parking.

Booked a double Queen suite. When we got there I was told it wasn’t available so we had to get a different type of room. Asked for late checkout, was told we could check out at 2pm. At 12pm we got a call that said we needed to be out asap. When I said that we had a late checkout I was told they didn’t have a note and we would need to be out of the room. Wouldn’t stay here.

Much better than the Courtyard down the road. Rooms are clean. Staff is very friendly. If your room is on the front side, there is some road noise. Other than that, and excellent place to stay.

We stay at a lot of Fairfield locations. We had reservations for 4 nights at this location.This was by far the worst. Heater rarely worked in our room. Breakfast was poor. No milk, no syrup but plenty of waffles and cereal. That's a bad combo. There was a group of teams staying for a youth basketball tournament. Parents drinking and socializing in the lobby/dining room while their children run free playing tag and hide and seek in the hotel. The thundering herd were banging on doors, screaming and yelling all over late into the evening. Repeatedly asked the front desk manager to address it and after three trips and a phone call he confirmed he caught some of them and told them to stop. I explained to him that kids won't listen to him so he needed to talk with parents instead. Around 11pm things finally stopped. The hotel is in a newer area in Ames but the rooms look 10 years old. Couldn't stream any movies or Tv in our room and if you wanted faster service you had to pay to upgrade the internet.Extremely disappointing experience. No offer to refund or discount anything for all the inconveniences.

This stay suited my purposes nicely as a one night, single traveler stay. It’s economical and no-frills, and my room was quiet and clean. Management was very helpful and kind. They even were able to accommodate a late check out for me so I could get a little more work done before departing.

Will stay again! My three kids and I stayed last weekend. When we arrived I was struggling with getting everyone and our luggage inside. Your front desk clerk Alyssa C. Was quick to come help us! She was very friendly and helped me get all the bags in door and up to our room. Once we were in our room she made sure we didn't need anything else before leaving. She had a smile on her face the entire time and was very sweet. After she left I realized we needed a few extra pillows, I called down and she had them to us in a flash. She made our entire trip so much more pleasant so much so that this is the first hotel review I've ever posted. I wanted to be sure she was recognized for her hard work and excellent customer service! Thank you Alyssa

Ok hotel and apparently one of the better ones in the area. Rooms are very clean but a little outdated and have some fixtures that don’t work or missing or wobbly pieces(ac cover was loose and one of the night lights were not working). Breakfast is much better than what other hotels of this level serve. Overall very convenient location if you’re visiting ISU(about 7-10 minutes drive)…

Just wanted to say that it’s a very nice a clean hotel I would highly recommend this place. I was having trouble finding a hotel everything was booked but was able to find one here and I’m glad I did, the front desk girl Alyssa was extremely helpful and nice she got me a room really quick and helped me get whatever I needed a very nice young lady. Like I said would highly recommend 10 out of 10

Horrible customer service. Called hotel numerous times for 6 days in a row and no one could help. Only manager who was never available or on-site. Left numerous messages and never received a call back from Liz Minter. Sweet girl at front desk tried calling her when I was checking in and asked Liz about my calls and Liz hung up on her as I was standing there. She should not be a manager. I was just looking to adjust my days as my family and I are sick. We are not looking for money back. I will never stay at a Marriott again as no one can help you. She should not be in this role as she has no etiquette or customer service skills.
