Class leader is very helpful with training tips, advice and demonstrating what the end result should look like once your dog has completed the class. Cannot say enough good things about this club!

Tried to set up training lessons and they wouldn't return my emails or phone messages. I was very surprised.

I enrolled my yellow lab in the basic obedience course. I had trained her at home but wanted to do some training with other dogs and people around as distractions. The first couple of classes were good, but by week three it became more about training the dogs to be show dogs rather than basic obedience. This class is good if you want to show your dog, but wouldn't suggest it if your are looking for basic obedience. The main focus and the reiterated phrase tends to be "if you are showing your dog".

You get what you pay for here. We did not learn anything new. I am a new dog owner so I was excited for these classes because I did not know how to train my Collie/Malamute, but honestly I feel like I wasted my money and time here.

You get what you pay for here. We did not learn anything new. I am a new dog owner so I was excited for these classes because I did not know how to train my Collie/Malamute, but honestly I feel like I wasted my money and time here. In our 2nd session, the trainer started grabbing her corgi's balls. She was caressing them and told us to do the same. She said that her dog liked that. Nope. That's borderline beastiality. In addition, the instructor is rude. She's got an assistant that I believe is scared of her because she will come to you quickly and tell you to do what the instructor wants or else the woman is going to get mad. Most sessions, the trainer just walked around talking a lot and saying anecdotes. She had string cheese and would pull it out and give it to her dog. It was like 45 minutes of talking and talking and then 15 minutes of actual training. I went to Ankeny's Kai's Dog Training for a free half hour session. I learned more than what I learned at the Cyclone Country Kennel Club's 6 week classes. In Ankeny the results are impressive. I was very surprised that I could get my dog to sit next to me without having to yell at her or grunt at her (which is what the other instructor wanted us to do). My dog always jumps on people and in Ankeny's half hour session, was able to train my dog not to do that. I would rather pay more, but know that I will get good results. The place is not big enough either. Maybe three cars fit in there. My class had 6 dogs and that was pushing it because there was not a lot of space to do good training. Not to mention that they are kind of obsessed with showing your dogs. They will mention it a lot to you that you should show your dog. Nope. I am not there to show my dog. DO NOT waste your money or time here. It will be pointless. Invest in your dog and take them to a good place. They deserve it.

It's so great to have a cost-effective place where we can take our puppy/adult dog for training to help us learn to raise a well-socialized, well-behaved dog.
