Took my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee in late June for a few “fixes.” My A/C was only working on one side of my car, headlight needed completely replaced, simple oil change & my car started to overheat when it would run for 3-5 minutes. I had spoken with John multiple times within a few days. The communication & updates were appreciated but I’m giving this experience one star because of how I was spoken to & for the final diagnosis of my Jeep. Please note that This isn’t the first time I’ve taken my car into McManus but it was definitely the last. When John had called to give me the final call on the issue of my Jeep he had asked me if I knew how to work my air conditioning because it was “perfectly fine,” & acted like I was dumb. My air conditioning hadn’t worked for two years at this point so I knew I wasn’t the problem. The icing on the cake was him telling me that the cause of my car overheating was a hole in the gasket & a blockage in my engine. John quoted it at $12,000-$13,000 to fix. Told me that my car as is with me needing new tires, a whole new headlight, my A/C etc… wouldn’t be worth fixing. I told him I’d pay my tab but will pick up my car anyway. I took my car elsewhere a few weeks later to get a second opinion before investing into a rebuilt engine or new car. The place I had taken it to right outside of Altoona was beyond helpful, FRIENDLY, & went above and beyond. He not only fixed my BROKEN A/C but flushed my engine & replaced one part. My total for those getting fixed & having a running car was less than $710.00. I paid McManus almost half that just for them to look at it and an oil change. I understand it’s a business but trust goes a long way & I’ll never trust them with my vehicle, time or money again.

Great shop! One of the few auto shops I have been to where they've been honest, fair, and helpful. Highly recommend!

The service is quick, courteous, and transparent. When I took my car in for service, they told me my options and the pricing for each. I dropped my car off the night before and had it back by 2pm the next day, which was such a relief as it's the only vehicle I have for transportation.

I had my truck evaluated but decided to not use McManus because quoted lower elsewhere. Although professional, I was surprised they charged me $165 for the diagnostic. I should have asked but they could have communicated this.

Going here for 20 plus years. First dealt with Father John now with son Bill. You will not find a more professional nor honest business than McManus Automotive. They stand behind their service,if something goes wrong with something they fixed, they do it again without charge. Now our son, daughter in law and grandson also go there. McManus is the auto garage you can depend on!!!!!!! Mighty Mak, one happy customer

Called garage and spoke with John. 2012 Honda Ridgeline. VSA light was on. Asked how much to reset the light and was told that if it just needs resetting it would not cost anything unless there was something that needed repair. When all was said and done he gave me a bill for $155 and change. Tech had reset the light and I was told I needed new tires. He gave me a price of approximately $1,050 for tires and alignment. John said if I buy tires from him he would deduct the $155. One way to sell tires.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Heard good things about this place. Took my pickup to them for a brake fluid exchange and asked them to look over my brake pads. They did the fluid service for about 1/2 the charge I was expecting, said I had 50 -60 % life left on my brake pads. Honesty is rare nowadays. Will bring them my business from now on.
