Update on this review. While there shows a response from the Social Care team at Wells Fargo, no contact has been made to me regarding this post. Appears that while Wells Fargo cares about their customers it's all a game for them. In fact I can share more about the games they play.
You have to set-up an appointment to speak with a branch manager, nothing new for Wells Fargo. I did that and the appointment was scheduled. What happened next is actually a bit unbelievable but definitely true.
In church I was approached by an employee of the Adel Wells Fargo branch and was asked in this public setting, 'did I really need to meet with a branch manager?' I was so totally caught off guard by this question that I was a bit gruff and said I could not talk about this right now. Wow, was this a bit concerning! What happened next shows how games are played.
The morning of my scheduled appointment I received a call, 1/2 hour before the appointment, letting me know that the branch manager was not in and the appointment I scheduled would need to be rescheduled. The branch manager was on vacation! The call I received was from the same person that approached me at church. When I asked why I was not contacted earlier, her response was 'well I tried to ask you about it at church and you didn't answer me so I just waited to call you the morning of the appointment'.
Lesson learned for me, don't rely on Wells Fargo to actually keep appointments and expect to be in a public setting and questioned by Wells Fargo staff about your banking needs.
Please be concerned and aware of how you are being treated by Wells Fargo and if this is the right banking institution for you. I know it's not for me!
The American Banking Association publishes information that can benefit us all. In October 2023, ABA Compliance and Risk featured information stating banks need to stay vigilant by understanding the nature of fraud and equipping their institutions with the best tools to combat the growing problem. A quote from the article states: "To effectively protect the consumer and the organization, it's paramount to delve into the human side of financial crimes." The article stated fraud can damage a bank's reputation and hurt customers. Kelly Richmond Pope, a nationally recognized expert in risk, forensic accounting and white-collar crime research defines fraud as "the absence of sound, ethical decision-making."
Speaking from experience, Wells Fargo failed in staying vigilant and protecting us as a customer. When fraud occurred, we reported findings to Wells Fargo, going into the branch and having our account frozen, good decision making on our part as the customer. The action taken by Wells Fargo, after being notified of the fraud, was to open a new account. Nothing more, than that. Does that reflect good decision-making as a financial institution; open a new account but do nothing more?
Red flags are common terminology in the banking world and a fraud situation SCREAMS red flag. A red flag means something isn't right and needs to be monitored more closely and further research needs to happen. Wells Fargo completely ignored our red flag; not placing any alerts on the new account they opened and failing to protect us as a customer.
Be wary of Wells Fargo as your financial institution of choice, and you do have choices! They do not represent themselves as a financial institution that is vigilant and developing of strategies to address threats. I encourage you to think carefully when choosing your financial institution; look for an organization that looks out for you and stands strong protecting customers with sound business practices and continuous monitoring when red flags are discovered.

Over the past five years, Wells Fargo and this branch have gone from okay to terrible. Their specialty seems to be making banking as inconvenient as possible. WF makes the simplest processes like making a deposit a total pain—all because they were fined for illegal acts like creating fake consumer accounts and overcharging mortgages. THEY should be the ones to pay for that in convenience, not their customers. Their savings rates are also appallingly low. Every other bank I looked at could do better and now instead of netting a paltry $1.05 in interest per month, I get $200. Employee attitudes seem worse as well. Today we were greeted by a clerk who didn’t even say hello and was wearing a scowl. I recommend taking your business and hard-earned money elsewhere.

I planned to go to the Adel branch today (Saturday) but they are closed on Saturdays. How are customers who work Monday through Friday supposed to get their banking needs completed?

The staff is truly great at the Adel location, but the Wells Fargo processes they have to follow seem quite broken and the people there can't overcome that. Simple tasks may require appointments and hours watching staff follow their process. You then may find out the process didn't work, did something it shouldn't, and the information given to you was not right.

The people here are really great. I needed a counter check so I stopped in here. They were very nice and friendly. They printed me up three counter checks and I was out really quickly. I don't prefer Wells Fargo bank first. I prefer other banks to Wells Fargo. I did really like the service at this branch though. Thank you guys. Yahuah bless you all!!

This company has very poor customer service and after have issues wells fargo myself, I have been asking around and it sounds like most people that have banked here in the past or currently do so, are not happy with how they are treated. Why is this company still in business? If you are thinking about going to wells fargo for any kind of financial service, save yourself a lot of hassle and frustration. GO somewhere else. These people don't care about you at all. I will never bank here again or let my family do so.
