This Dollar general in Zanesville is the nicest Dollar general around. The manager and staff do a great job in keeping it clean

I’ve been a regular since it opened. Just seconds from my house. It was convenient and dependable. As of this year it has become more of an annoyance than dependable. Either shelves are not stocked, or they’re closed at odd hours due to staffing. I get it when it comes to being short staffed, but it’s been months since the store has been staffed, stocked, and opened at its normal hours. Then when the store hours switch back to 8am to 10pm, customers are turned away at around 9 pm because they decided to close early due to slow traffic. Yes, that happened to a customer on a Friday evening about two weeks ago. The employee refused to sell to them because they had just closed. Maybe the traffic is too slow because customers no longer know or can depend on when it will be open these past few months. Or the inconvenience of the items that are being advertised are not stocked in the store. One thing I always see well stocked is the alcohol. Maybe if the store didn’t sell alcohol they could hire under the age of 19 years old. It would help with the staffing issues. I know there are many responsible teenagers around there looking for a job and would love to work at DG.

It's a decent store when it's actually open. They are almost constantly short- staffed, so be prepared to arrive to a closed store hours before its posted closing time.

Frequent shopper. Staff can be rude on some days but everyone does have those days. Seems to be low on a lot of items like other stores around.

One of the cleanest dollar general's I've been to. All the ladies are super friendly and will help you when you need help. They all work hard and check out wait time is minimal even when busy.

I'm 55 years old soon and can't buy cigarettes from the rude day shift lady without ID, even though she has seen my ID before - if she can't tell the difference between a minor and a 50+ year old man she should be firedCarding an old man for cigarettes and denying them is worse than NOT carding a minor to me, it's totally disrespectful and could be considered harassment
