Tim is the best mechanic, ever. They always make our propane trucks top priority. So we can continue making our customers, top priority. Also I had an issue with my own diesel truck. I stopped and asked his opinion. And ofcourse he told me what he would do first, and he was exactly right. Easy/ cheep fix. Thanks Tim... Bart Goodin United Oil company inc.

They are near impossible to get ahold of and when they do deign to call, they give you some bogus response on when service will be done, but won't stick to it. Then they say they are open every day, but turns out they are not. I give them 2 stars because they have done a good job on my vehicle in the past, and are affordable, but their customer service is appalling. Don't lie to your customers about when you will call and your own hours. You're adults, not 5 year old children.Service: Brakes

I would not recommend this auto repair facility.Vehicle has been in their facility for almost two months without any kind definite answer when it will be finished.Communication from this business once they get your vehicle is next to none.Vehicle had a timing chain issue , then first thing we get told is "it needs a new engine".-Within the first week it was there-After week three of vehicle sitting outside with no dissembly to verify timing chain issue. The mechanics keep saying it needs new engine.Beginning week four gave them (the mechanics) a choice to get it started or we will send the vehicle somewhere else.-Engine has not yet been tore apart to verify timing chain issue-"We recommend a new engine" Is what they keep telling us. At a price of 10,000At this point we (as the customer) decided to go against their recommendations and get a vavle shop done to the cylinder heads.Jump ahead of nearly 5 weeks the vehicle is still sitting in their facility waiting for reassembly. And an total bill of over 4000Stay clear of the this business!!!

I moved to the Fort Wayne region in 2012 and bought a used 7.3 liter Ford Diesel pickup in late 2013. Drove it up from the South and set to work on cleaning up the inside and finding all the old issues to make it a daily driver. Quickly ran into to some engine problems. Being new in town and didn’t know any mechanics, I brought it into multiple different dealerships and then separate mechanics all over town. Nobody seemed to understand what the problem was and they would make up all kinds of stories that always seemed to culminate in the necessity to replace everything under the sun and then we would “see how it goes from there”. I was very frustrated and then some Amish friends of mine suggested this place to me. I figured I had nothing to lose and so I stopped in. I will never forget my first exchange. I walked in and met Jackie, who handles the customer flow, paperwork, phone calls, scheduling, and makes it such that Tim, the owner, can focus on his gift which is master surgery on diesel trucks. I briefly told her my problem and she suggested I just walk out into the garage, find Tim, and discuss it with him. I did just that. I found a boss working just as hard as the rest of the guys who work for him. He continued to work on a truck while we were discussing the situation with my truck. To be honest with you, I really wasn’t sure he was listening to me as I was spouting my laundry list of details. But after about 5 minutes, he stopped, looked up from his work, and gave a perfect 3 sentence summary of the relevant concerns. Then he gave a brief and very rational explanation of what he thought might be wrong with it and why, complete with explaining the relevant mechanisms in my particular motor that might lead to the issue, his historical experience with this particular engine year range, and then for the very first time, I heard a plan that made me think there was a real chance an accurate diagnosis could be made and then we could fix what was really wrong and not just start randomly replacing things until maybe the problem went away. I decided right then that I would give Klopfenstein Repair a shot. I then told the owner, “I was kind of also thinking about putting in one of those ignition power chips. Do you guys do that?” That statement seemed to stop him in his tracks and his next words to me were, “let’s take a walk outside”. And so we walked a short distance over by his fence, he stopped, turned to me and said, “That is a really d*** idea. If you put a chip in that thing you are going to ruin it, and yes, you will regret it.” He was not at all rude, condescending, or disrespectful. I immediately sensed that he was a straight shooter that had been in the trenches for many years, knew exactly what he was talking about, and was not selling me the moon or giving lip service. Somehow I just knew at that moment he was completely right and I am so grateful that he saved me from making a really stupid decision. Fast forward and a few days later after leaving the truck with him, I got a call from him directly, saying that he thought he had found the problem and it required the replacement of 2 of the 8 fuel injectors. He indicated that he couldn’t be positive, but he was pretty sure doing so would make a noticeable improvement and it might fix the problem altogether. I authorized it, he did the work, and sure enough, problem solved. He acted like it was no big deal. This was after I had taken the truck all over the city and nobody else seemed able to do what he was able to do. Then the bill came. Line itemed. Brief. Super readable. Very reasonable labor rate. Everything you need to know without all the silly dealer stuff that tries to make you think they did more than they did to justify their high price. I was really impressed. Since then, I have had Tim and his guys, including his own son, work on my truck multiple times. Always the same honesty, straight shooting discussion, smart diagnostics, sound reliable and timely work, and then fair billing. In 2016, I then bought a used Diesel p
