My daughter who is in school and works her tail off was questioned by an employee at this location as to “why she needed that much cash” 1st None of your business and 2nd see the first reason.

This has been the only bank I will bank with. I think their recent reviews do not reflect the integrity of how well these employees work and put up with people on day to day basis. I am always greeted with good intentions from the staff and they’ve always helped me to their fullest extent. I think many companies are having trouble keeping staff and that can bug many people when they might not get immediate answers when having new hire ons. Thank you guys and keep up the good work!

Use to be good bank. NOT ANYMORE. We were treated poorly with judgement and attitude by the Male manager staff. I was a customer for many years. Will switch over to another bank. They made me wait for long time to say they are not going to notarize the papers. Being a professional myself I experienced bais based on color and my dress. They got my ID, looked up my account and then made me wait for long time before they said they will notarize only on a different paper but not on the copy of the document as it doesn't have a line for their notarization. So lame.How are they going to notarize copy of a diploma or birth certificate? I guess if I was dressed up good and was a different color, they wouldn't have judged me and signed the document.

Recently switched banks due to how I was treated after going in to this branch. I work in a facility where most days I am covered in grease or smell of engine fluids. I had a request for a banker in the branch and felt like how I was dressed after coming from work caused the employee to judge me on this. They made no effort to make me feel comfortable. They had to speak with management for my request and gave me a basic response that I felt was just “blowing me off”.

Used to be a great bank but they are really like any other bank these days and care more about the so-called policies instead of helping the customer. Not very knowledgeable anymore and you can tell they don't care about helping. When several other banks tell you that First Merchants policy on a certain issue is "strange and "unusual" but FM says it's the way it is but can't explain why, that's suspicious. It's too bad they've declined so deeply.

Avoid this branch at all costs!!! The lack of communication and customer service at this bank is alarming. It feels as if you are not a valued customer.... Surprisingly, the branch on 26 is exceptional and resolves everything in a timely manner.

I love first merchants bank! But I’m not a fan of the west Lafayette branch. Something always happens to my account or something always goes wrong when I need something done to my account there. The branch on 26 is the best one in Lafayette! They always get it done right the first time or explain everything better!

They lose your tax return, put it someone else's account, you get to spend 2 months being told they can't find it. Then they find it tell you it will be deposited in 24 to 72 hours next they call you back oh sorry we have to send it back and maybe the state and federal tax will be returned in a check. OBTW I became a customer in 2000. I am looking for a new bank and will soon no longer be a Lafayette bank and trust customer. I can't believe any one can treat their customers this poorly.
