Wow, the selection is amazing. Have to agree with others, in that the prices are high for used CD’s.I did make a purchase and got some CD’s of a band from the UK that I would presume I wouldn’t find anywhere else (which is why I was OK paying the prices for those)If you are filling in gaps in your collection with other groups, especially mainstream albums, you can probably find it cheaper elsewhere.Regardless, if you want to find something unusual, they’ll probably have it and you should be happy to pay their price. At the end of the day though support local small businesses like this (I probably would have bought a lot more if the prices were lower)

Let me just start out and say.. I have been to almost every single record store in the state of Indiana, as well as venturing to record stores in OH.This shop, by far, was the most consistently overpriced. At times, I felt vinyls were almost price gauged.LPs I could get at every other vinyl shop for $30 was $50+ here.Mad respect for their country collection and the labeling of each artist, but I will definitely not be back due to prices.

Fantastic selection of records! Plenty of reasonably priced gems in the jazz section that you’ll never find in big city record shops. A must visit spot for out of town diggers and locals alike!!

Let me start off by saying my husband collects CDs from his childhood, so when we first moved out here and he found this place (by chance), we happened to be trying out the BWW right next door when he saw this record store and wanted to go in, he was ecstatic, as he usually orders his CDs on eBay. He's been here 2-3 times now to buy CDs, I am not interested too much in his hobby so I never go. But today I decided to join him since he sat in Hobby Lobby with me for 30 minutes. Typically when he goes there is a older man (which he has told me is the owner I believe). Today there was a younger man and an older woman at the counter. When we went in my husband went one way, and I was looking to see if they had any original packaged Nsync CDs so I went another way. There were a couple of people in the store browsing along with us, but I noticed pretty early on that the two employees were following us and ignoring everyone else. As I went back to my husband, I turned around and noticed them watching us. My husband picked a CD out and immediately the younger guy walked over and said "I'll hold this for you". My husband found that odd because he's been here before and never had them not allow him to hold CDs he's choosing while browsing. I found it odd because as stated previously, other people were in the shop and were walking around holding CDs they had chosen, and they were acting like there was no one else in the store but us two. At that point I was annoyed and felt awkward so I walked up to the front of the store and just scrolled on my phone while my husband continued to browse. The last thing I wanted was for them to assume or think we were trying to steal anything, I then proceeded to watch the older woman watching my husband, walk up to the aisle behind him, and start acting like she's working flipping through CDs, while she's watching him to see what he's doing. At this point I was pissed off and proceeded to walk to my husband and tell him I was going to wait outside. I wanted to stop him from purchasing anything but I know his excitement with finding this place and didn't want to ruin this for him. He proceeded to buy two CDs, and told me in the car they have never done that to him before and that he did feel awkward. Now I don't know if they acted this way because I went with him this time (I am black), or if it was because the normal person he has communicated with before was not there, but I'm hoping he can find another cd store in the area. Truly upsetting and hurtful for them to so openly behave this way. Especially when my husband has as I said been here numerous times before to look for and purchase CDs to add to his collection, and never had any issues. Do better! You may have lost what could be a loyal customer today.

My older Bro is a graduated Purdue senior, which sucks because now it means I won't be able to go here as often. Every time we went to move things out of his apartment we went to JL and bought way too much stuff. I've found things here that go for hundreds of dollars on eBay listed at 15 dollars. I've found my favorite records, found my favorite cassettes, and it always reminds me of the times when he was in college. Every time we're in Lafayette, it's a guaranteed stop. 10/10, amazing for any analog music fan. Also, Make sure to give Boris the spider a salute when you leave!

This place is anachronistic in both good and bad ways. Good, in that you can physically browse through CDs and records and possibly stumble onto something you didn't know you needed. Bad, in that all CDs are encased in long-box style anti-theft cases making it a pain to browse. In addition, there are horizontal stacks of these CD cases lying on top of the racks obscuring the artist name dividers. Prices are anachronistic in the sense that they reflect a pre-internet world. Not being competitive on price is fine if you offer a great shopping experience. For me, the experience did not offset the pricing.

My brother and I come here from Chicago every few months and always leave with lots of vinyl's and cd's. They have a huge selection and we're always finding records not at other stores. Can't find this kind of store in Chicago. We can't wait to come visit this weekend!
