I write this as a warning, so you will never have to endure what my family and I have. My father passed away in May 2022, and had previously used Zach Troyer for his taxes. My brother, the executor of the estate, assumed he could used this business to finish processing taxes for the estate.
To make a long story short, Zach did not finalize our 2022 and 2023 taxes until July of 2024 - over a year late for 2022, and 3+ months late for 2023. Each time my brother called, he was promised everything was almost done, he'd have it next week, and a variety of other excuses.
But the cherry on top is that Zach's CPA license expired in 2018, which would make this malpractice. He is no longer licensed as a CPA which is a huge red flag. I am an attorney, and if I were to do legal tasks while inactive or retired, that would be malpractice, but to simply let your license expire, and then hold yourself out as doing business...it's not something any competent or reputable accountant would do.
As a result, my family members and I have occurred penalties and been forced to pay refiling fees - hundreds of dollars to date. When confronted, Zach promised to file the necessary paperwork, while simultaneously failing to communicate, missing a deadline, and admitting he had not taken action with less than a week remaining on the deadline before additional fees collected.
This man is negligent, incapable of communication, and incapable of understanding or respecting deadlines - nothing you would want in a CPA. Which he is not. Because his license expired in 2018. Seek help elsewhere.
