We were very happy with our kitchen and bath cabinets from Stephen at Schmidt cabinetry. He gave us the best design for our money and the cabinets are quality.

Since 1976 Schmidt Furniture has been building fine pieces of Amish furniture and cabinets using tried and true methods of the past, such as mortise & tenon and datos, frame & panel cabinet sides, and dovetailed drawers. We use select lumber such as cherry, quarter sawn red and white oak, maple and walnut. Building cabinetry & furniture is a legacy in the Schmidt family, who come from with Amish roots. Stephen Schmidt of German-Swiss lineage, began building cabinets 44 years ago in his home workshop after apprenticing at a local cabinet shop. The store is now located in the small town of Wakarusa, in beautiful Northern Indiana, only two hours southeast of Chicago. Stephen has been joined by his son Leonard Schmidt in 2002.
