Buyers that purchase from him on line (ebay) be extremely careful. This guy is absolutely why car dealers are not trusted and why they are stereotyped as “Shady”. He listed a car on eBay with a buy it now or make offer. His ad stated car ran fantastic and was cherished by prior owner. The pictures looked fantastic on line, and with his ad stating that the car ran and looked great, I made an offer. He accepted the offer and emailed me right away asking about immediate payment? Red flag, I should have walked away at that point. I emailed back asking for a phone number because I won’t send a dime unless I know it’s a legit seller. I needed to see title so it matched the vin and make sure he was the real seller and owner. After a lengthy conversation going over the car, I explained many times that I don’t have a body guy so if the car needs anybody or paint work I wouldn’t be interested because I don’t have anyone that will work on restoration. He confirmed car was super nice and ready to go. We started talking about pick up of the car, and I said I would like to drive the car back since he stated how nice it ran in the ebay ad. Ok, now things start to get real...he tells me I could not drive the car because there was absolutely zero brakes, oh and the carburetor has a massive fuel leak? There goes driving the car, but this car wouldn’t be safe to transport either, so I said I won’t take the car unless there are brakes for the transporter. He said I’ll get it to stop? Again I should have walked away, but if the carb is the only issue then fine. I sent the wire transfer the next morning, and right after he calls and states his mechanic was looking at the brakes and he was with him at the car and sent me additional pictures of the car. Except I wasn’t sure this was the same car?The new pictures he sent showed a car that the hood blew up and bent the corners back, not only a ruined hood, but massive rust on the hood and top of the fender. He sent a few pics of drivers side, which now shows driver fender to be caked with probably a gallon of body filler that was horribly cracked and another gallon on the driver rear lower quarter. So the few pics he sent is telling me this car is a piece of junk. I immediately called him, I was not happy and asked why these pics were not included in the ebay ad? He rudely responded “ what did you expect for 7500” . Wow, again I went to back to our conversation prior to payment to him that I DO NOT want a car that needs any body or paint work. Again, rudely he complained he just wanted the car sold as is without doing anything. This was so frustrating because this guy didn’t get it? I would have never made an offer if a honest and truthful description of the cars real condition was listed in the ebay ad.He then tells me that he will (grudgingly) contact his body guy to get an estimate for the damage he sent me. Keep in mind he only sent one side of the car. I told him hoods can’t be fixed that bend back and from all the mud I could see, I doubted a good job could be done. I asked just to have my money refunded, knowing the other side was probably the same. How about this statement from him... I spent the money already? He had my money for 2 hours and had the nerve to think I’m stupid enough to believe he was poor and couldn’t send it back. The prior day he told me he was flying to Barrett Jackson in Louisiana to buy some cars? Ok, so he has a 100k to buy cars but can’t send my 7500 back. Keep in mind I never signed any paperwork agreeing to purchase this vehicle, nor did I ever sign the title. As a dealer he must have a legal contract signed by law, so this car was technically his car and the money he had from me was theft. Now he’s getting into criminal areas. The end of the line for me was when he called me with an estimate from his body guy, 1500 and I would need to wire him 800 right away. He said he would pay 700, which I doubt. I called and said before I send a dime to you, I want to speak with your body guy. I have restored many classic vehicles, and there was no way seeing
