I really appreciate the time they took to get us in the right equipment.

Cris is great. Very knowledgeable and personable. Has good used and new equipment at fair prices. You can try out equipment and if they don't work out swap it out for something that does. He makes sure you are a happy customer.

I remember the first Slide Shop at the base of Ski Valley in LaPorte, IN where I learned to ski Midwest ice. Cris is still helping ski enthusiast with fitting skis and boots, from used to brand new. It's been a while since I've owned a pair of skis so I relied on his 40+ years of industry experience to help me out. Forget about paying retail, he makes you feel like family from the moment you walk in till the time you walk out with own equipment where he puts a package deal together for you. It's backed by his own guarantee, if you don't like it, he says just bring it back for a full exchange for something you do like. So glad I remembered he was still located in NW Indiana so I didn't have to go far to get new equipment.

Stopped in yesterday to the place I learned to Ski back in the 70s. We are returning to skiing now after a lapse of many years. My wife Pam and I brought our skis in for a tuneup and binding check. The staff was very helpful and professional. Our skis were ready in an a little over an hour with the best wax and tune they have ever had. Reasonable price too. Chris Marshall was fascinating to talk to. His history lessons about skis and his adventures on skis was educational and entertaining.

These guys know their stuff, worth the drive from the Chicago area. It’s hard to find a ski shop where they actually know what they are talking about and have the customers best interest in mind when making recommendations and finding the best fit for each skier and giving everyone their full attention. Super friendly, super helpful and super knowledgeable, overall great experience and they will continue to get my friend’s and family’s business, I will recommend them to anyone I can! Great deals on equipment as well, they sell new, used and trade in or trade up on your current equipment. The best deals are in Feb-March but inventory is low. Head there in late October/ Early November for a fully stocked store.

Best (only?) place in town to get snow gear!! New or used they got it. My kids grew out of the old bird and needed a new one. They will buy your gear then sell you some. It's a great place. Shop here local for your stuff, then skip the line up north.

Went there to get my first pair of skis a while back. Chris was extremely personable and helpful. Not only did he hook me up with skis, but he also got my dad a pair too. He later then helped my sister and mom get a pair as well at an extremely reasonable price. Felt like Chris knew about his product, and after further investigation, his prices were generous. I still have my first pair of skis 3 years later in great condition and am planning to go back this week to get my boyfriend a pair. Thanks Chris:)

First time buying skis, was helped the whole way through my purchase and feel extremely comfortable with what I bought. Even for it being the end of the season, I was still able to find a pair of skis that I’m super happy with. Definitely will be going back.

Highly recommend the Slide Shop! Cris and Kristi are very knowledgeable and prices are reasonable. My sons wanted their first ski helmets and Kristi was very helpful with fitting them and taking the time to find helmets they both liked. The shop was very busy, which was great to see for a small business!

Best place to buy gear if you're going out west or upper Michigan. Chris has the best deals. Don't let the outside of the building deceive you. Chris has top of line skis. He got me set up with all new gear for my first trip to Keystone, CO. I felt like the king of the slopes. He got set up with twin tips, which are a newer ski becoming more and more popular over the last few years. I've tried a few different types of skis and honestly they are a great all mountain ski in my opinion. Of course, everyone has their own preferences. Chris has a lot of ski experience and he can definitely set anyone up with gear customized for them. Everyone knows skiing is expensive. Back in the day many of us went to this place to ski and sled. Honestly, for what snow we get it's too damn expensive for the business to stay running. Making snow is super expensive. Rather than sink a bunch of money into the outside, Chris has done a great job and providing quality service, expertise in the sport, and affordable gear packages. Stop by and help support the Slide Shop. There is no other place that you can go that's close with the kind of deals Chris has. I've looked into a few places and really the only other good place is way over in South Bend. I mean, take my word for it, the skis and gear there are really high priced. They do however, carry Hestra gloves which are nice bc you can try them on. If you want coats or pants, online is the typical way to go, but you can go into south bend and at least get an idea. Other than that, there is the Chicago area. They have a few places but I really didn't like what I saw. Bottom line, if you have any ski questions just call Chris. He will be straight with you and point you in the right direction.
