Used this business for having my dogs boarded for 1 night. They charged $120 for 2 days for 2 dogs (even tho it was 1 overnight) because they stated that they had them most of the day Saturday and most of the day on Sunday. The only thing they told me was just to call them whenever we got back in town on Sunday and we could make arrangements for pick up. I was more than a bit shocked when I was told what the total was. I paid the $120 without questioning. Their business and their way of doing business... I should have inquired more.*They also did not allow dog beds or blankets which would have been nice to know before we dropped them off.We have boarded at other local places for 1 overnight with drop off and pick up times being the same hours and have been charged $44-$50 for both dogs. (Most places charge by how many overnights they keep the animals) We won't be using this company for boarding services again and will never recommend them to anyone.

John and the crew of Vonbernd were beyond phenomenal to work with. John has a special way of understanding dog behavior and mannerisms with hisMany years working as a K9 trainer: We took a loosely trained GSD and over six months got her certified in protection and obedience. This process built amazing confidence and strengthened the bond between our dog and ourselves. We are forever thankful to this crew for giving our family a new start and can’t wait to comeback to refresh our training.

So far I’m impressed. Currently working on training with a dog we purchased from Vonbernd K9 and it’s working out very well. Great dog and with a little training we’ll both be off on the right start.

They use brute force and power to make the dog scared of you. No training involved, just abuse and scare tactics.

Unethical. Sells "trained" dogs without disclosing background or pertinent information. Trains with fear and abuse. Do not go here. Ever.

I had the privilege to witness John in action today training 4 different dogs and I must say I was super impressed with how professional and patient he was with the dogs and their owners !! he and his wife have a true genuine talent for this !!!

Absolutely outstanding service. We took both obedience and defensive training. Our german shepherd, Rex, took to john's method of instruction enthusiastically. Rex is now certified in obedience and defense. While very aggressive when " turned on" he is hugely friendly and gentle with friendly adults and all children. As a part of john's service I take Rex back to him every two months for a quick tune up. I highly recommend the Von Bernd training center if you want a well behaved dog.

Great trainer. We could not get our dog to walk on a leash. Within minutes of training, by me, with instructions from the trainer. Our dog is also aggressive and he gave great instructions on how to approach people with an aggressive dog. Shortly after being there, our dog was not growling or barking at him. I HIGHLY recommend using them for any type of training.

I cannot possibly say enough about John and his training facility other than we were fortunate to come across one of his dogs when we felt we had the need for a protection dog. Sure, I can teach my dog to sit, lay down, etc... but as I’ve come to learn recently; not nearly as effectively and without getting frustrated as what I’ve been able to do working with John. DO NOT USE THIS TRAINER! The way he described his training method did not include abuse. He held my 5 month old puppy in the air by a choke collar multiple times as a correction method and yanked her around repeatedly by that choke collar. His said you don’t correct out of anger and then did exactly that.
