If I could give ZERO stars I would. I called them the beginning of September the 1st they were a NO SHOW and i drove all the way from Riley Children’s hospital home for them to not show up . I was the one who called , they weren’t even planning on calling me I don’t think. 2nd time they showed up but late , he was nice and I though he was listening but clearly not. I have a child battling cancer and my house has no vapor barriers since its a old home . It causes to have moisture in the house which isn’t good for a child battling cancer. He said he’d get back to me by that Monday . Now it being almost the end of October and multiple times me calling and the receptionist telling me “oh I’ll have him call you when he gets back in “ . I finally get ahold of them and for them to tell me its not a job they can do. I would not recommend them even to my worst enemy thats how poor of a company this is .

Our water softener drain hose came out of the drain, the softener regenerated over night and flooded our Laundry room and two adjoining areas! Jim Davis Restoration and sub contractor Smiddy's Carpet and Flooring cleaned and restored our home! Definitely 5 star companies! Owners and all Employees of both businesses were outstanding to work with during a stressful time!

Refused to give a written estimate before job. Was given a verbal estimate for $1500 low end to 2500 high end. Came and done the job, and they did clean the basement. But then decided to dump there tank right in my driveway next to basement wall that made no sense. When they got done, they somehow knew what my insurance policy of 5000 with 500 deductible. So at that time they turned in a bill for 4500. And when I ask them about the verbal estimate . I was told to not to worry the insurance would pay. So 4500 for literally 2.5 hours of work and another hour to pack up yers. Very unhappy and would never recommend them to anyone. Get a hand written estimate if u do use them, but u have been warned about there shady work practices.

By far the worst restoration company in the Midwest. Overpriced workmanship very Poor. The company was hire by the insurance company, hopefully they will take the off there preferred list. They were not even close to finishing and was told to not return to the project, that I would complete it myself.

Used them per our insurance company. After services were rendered, they were removed from our major insurance carrier's list of companies to use for fire restoration. Total creepy company...

This place came out and nailed tarps on my roof and put fans in the house, took ALL of the insurance money and never came back. Called them 6 times and got lied to every time. I ended up going with another contractor and had to pay for the entire deal out of pocket. Stay away from this place.

Though I honestly think that the owners,Jeff and Kathy Sweeat have the best intentions, the employees that work for them do not have a clue of what they are doing. From the beginning. I had a fire at my house, I signed the contract for them to do the work. This was 110,000.00 job. I was promised the the house would be boarded up. It was not! Therefore my house was open to the elements for over a month. The cabinet doors have been falling off along with the door fronts of the drawers. The attic entrance was covered with drywall and when I pointed it out, thier answer to fixing this was so to put a extra small area in my closet that only a little person could get through. More about roof later. I had hard wood floors in my house, i was told that they were ruined and that laminate floors.would have to put down. The planks continue to come up. I have made several calls to Jim Davis and also to Smitty's Carpet who supplied the flooring. They have been out several times and still keep coming up. They are still not fixed. The counter by the fridge is off center as the workers would not believe me that our fridge was 36" wide. They said that ALL fridges were 34" . NOT! Therfore the fridge would not fit so they had to move the cabinet which made the pendent lights not centered am going to stop after i tell about the roof. A few months ago after a horrible wind storm some of the shingles came off. After a rain storm the roof was leaking. The roofers found mold on the rafters. Being that the roofers came out immediately to put tarp over the area and started the job as soon as insurance gave the go ahead. It only leaked a small place in the kitchenJim Davis Restoration said that the mold was from the leak and not because of the firefighters spraying the rafters etc. And then also that the house being left open to the elements after the fire. There are so many things they messed are horrible. One other thing I want to point out it that the front storm door things that hold the glass in all broke except. Let them know and was told that they would order some. Anyway the glass I taped in with duct tape while I was waiting. Well, with the heat the tape was coming off so I took the glass out as I did not want to fall and break. After taking it out, I went to leave and fell through the opening, falling down the stairs, and fractured my foot. This happened after I had told him and reminded him about the clips he had promised me. I had even offered to pay for them myself. He again told me he would order them. That was a month ago still no clips. I would NOT recommend them for ANY job.
