Very convenient for things you need and the speeding gas station doesn't carry it. They always have extremely friendly employees that will help you if you ever need their help.

I live here in Swayzee. Some complain about the employees and the condition of the store. There were a few months when the store couldn't be open due to the employees at that time chose not to come to work. They've finally been replaced and things are good as a customer. They do get in too much merchandise and there's no where to put it. Maybe storage containers are the answer. Many times there is only one employee and they can't run the cash register and put stock away at the same time. And by the way the employees are entitled to have breaks during shifts just like everyone else in the working world. Since this store opened it has saved me countless trips to Marion for items I either forgot or I didn't know I needed while shopping in Marion. I'm glad we have this Dollar General store here in Swayzee, especially since our other town based stores have closed years prior to Dollar General breaking ground here.

When the store opened in Swayzee it was wonderful. It was kept clean and offered safe surroundings. Fast forward to today December 17th. 2023 and it is a total opposite experience sadly. You can barely get through the store. It is a disaster, The shelves are a mess. Nothing is organized and it’s like they just throw the merchandise on shelves rather than hang them up in a manner that you can look at all the items. The Christmas supplies are stacked in front of shelves all over the isle yet there is another isle with empty shelves for more than a week or two. Not only that there are constantly boxes and carts with more items from the store room everywhere. The employees come in and sit either in the office or stand outside the doors smoking cigarettes while customers are shopping. They couldn’t possibly know if someone was stealing. I don’t even work there and want to go in and organize and clean the mess!!! Such a dangerous and disappointing change. Also they advertise sales yet most of the time the items don’t ring up as advertised. You end up paying full price because almost everyone has to check themselves out because there are no staff around to correct it.IT seems like this location and many others have far too many supplies ordered at a time. Something needs to change for these chain stores.
