Waited until I had gotten most of the way switched over from another institution as a new member, and then locked down my money and began denying transactions ex post facto, making it extraordinarily difficult to pay bills at exactly the time (mid-switch-over) when I was the most vulnerable. Then, they disabled my online banking and claimed that I (background in Comp. Sci.) would need to take my 7 computers and 5 mobile devices to GEEK SQUAD (no joke) at my expense, and send them a receipt before they'd enable it again.I switched because I'd had a MILDLY bad experience with my old bank and wanted a better one. Never did I imagine the nightmare I was in store for. If you're currently banking elsewhere and considering United because you're unhappy there, do yourself a favor and imagine just how much worse it could possibly get. If you still decide to switch, go literally anywhere else.

Update 09/26After speaking to the manager last week about my review I decided that everyone deserves a second chance, and this time the Ireland Branch did not disappoint. I went in this morning and was greeted by multiple people at the front teller line who were all ready to serve me. I was taken care of and was in and out in matter of minutes. I am very understanding that sometimes the first impression is not the best impression and they definitely showed me who they really are today! I will be back and I continue to enjoy my banking experience with United!Original postUsually I go to the Gumwood Rd. branch and I receive excellent service. However today I was on the south side of South Bend trying to make a deposit into my account in the Ireland Road branch. I realized this was a mistake as soon as I walked in, there was no one to greet me until I initiated contact with one of the Caucasian female bankers who was sitting down on the computer in her office alone. The female banker simply told me to be patient and someone would assist me and went right back to typing on the computer. I had a lot of cash on me and wanted to be helped quickly since I was the only person in the lobby. I ended up waiting in the lobby around 10 minutes. The two tellers were busy with other tasks as well as the other two bankers, however the banker on the computer did not attempt to leave her office to assist me. This is never the case in any of the other branches that assist me as almost everyone leaves their office to assist. At many points I really felt like I should have taken my money and went down to my other bank on the same road. Normally I feel valued when I bank with United, however today I did not feel valued.

Crystal Hudson helped us get an Auto loan. She was very helpful, very polite, Personal, and very good at her job. As young adults my wife and I would highly recommend United Federal Credit Union

I have an auto loan, checking, savings and a credit card through them. They are awesome. Everyone responds quickly and are eager to help. Ben in loans, Kyle in mortgages are super helpful.

They advertise to do shared branch withdrawals then make it a pain like they don't want to do it when you are on sight.

for starters they can do better in vehicle finance and having all their ducks in a row. they lead me on and asked for 2020 tax return which is actually illegal to ask for till april 16th. wasted my time and money. other issues made it impossible to open a business account for sole prepiotors. have plenty of money in my account and couldn't use my card even for a $500 swipe so embarrassing. also when you confront them on the issues they just don't get back to you. Glad we never got ride of our other bank in the meantime we will be looking for another credit union.

I recently traded in my car and called to get the payout on my loan. And they quoted me a figure $1100 less than what was actually owed. Two days later I got a call from the dealer saying that the credit union had told them I still owed. When I called and asked what the payoff was I was given the same figure again. It took 30 minutes to find out the actual payoff and they refused to honor the figure they had quoted me twice. So I had to pay them $1100 out of pocket because they cannot perform a simple task.

I bank here and it's great. My only issue is everytime I need to deposit cash into the ATM the service is unavailable. They need more ATM locations. 1 downtown would be nice ?
