I would give zero stars if I could. I rented a truck from U Haul on 10/29/23, and according to my receipt should have been charged $52.94. I was charged the amount of $84.63. The location refused to help me, and after calling the corporate location was told that my card was used to pay another persons rental on 10/29 by the name of Heather. U Haul has refused to refund me the money after admitting that they charged my card for someone elses rental. Absolutely terrible business and customer service.

The truck made a terrible sound when in drive( it wasn’t the tow button I turned it off as instructed) it drove as if it was in a gear other than drive. I paid an extra ten for an appliance dolly and couldn’t even use it because the strap was broken so I had to figure out another way to get my fridge and stove on the truck which was sliding them onto their sides and using the ramp to get it on the truck. Was not happy about that at all.

Do not buy a Uhaul gift card. And do not go to the Uhaul on 3410 Western av in South Bend. Terrible customer service. My mother in law bought us a gift card for $150 to rent a truck. We tried using it and the guy said they couldn't put it on file, he was speculating why, he didn't even know. So we put a credit card on file to get the truck. Mother in law said Uhaul doesn't give a refund from gift card purchases, so when we returned the truck next day we explained how we need to use the gift card. This other guy replied lets go look at the fuel level, he checked the fuel level and hit something on his work phone and said "alright you're all set to go." I said uhh gift card?" He was playing dumb like we never mentioned it or explained our situation. I said well whats the point of buying a gift card if you cant use it. He said ITS FOR BUYING TAPE. We looked at this wigger with neck tattoos and chewed up finger nails, thought this mf probably just rolled a blunt, got keef stuck in his crusty nubs and has no idea whats going on. I said "thats useless." What I meant to say is you're full of shit. He's lazy and didnt want to deal with anything or save our family from a pointless $150 charge. He refused to even try to punch the gift card numbers in. He just let out a sigh and said so much for being a manager, whatever that means. This guy wouldn't be able to even do laundry at a prison, he belongs in a retarded asylum.

On July 1 I told the managers brother that I was still going to use unit but it was cleaned out but I was bringing other stuff in and he chose to check me out of the unit and then I still have 15 days on the unit now they won't give me a refund for half of it. Do not go to this place they are a rip off.

The gentleman. I mean arrogant, don't listen, A-- Hole. Got me so made, don't think I could have contained myself if my wife hadn't stepped in. If you have PTSD I wouldn't go there. This gentleman is a loose cannon. Never do business there again.

I always used U Haul with no problems this time total disaster. Tried to over charge for cleaning services, gas and other stuff. Not up front with fees and and times. I wanted truck from 2-Saturday 5 pm Sunday. This is not professional and I would say take a picture of vehicle before and after which the staff told me I should have done. Highly upset.

Please do your self a favor and do not use this facility.My experience: In April, I rented a storage unit and moved my things in. I came back on August to find out the lock was cut and my unit was open, with all my stuff up for grabs. They told me that there was an error and they were supposed to cut the neighbor unit, not mine. However, they never called me to inform the situation nor put a new lock in. Just left it open for who knows how much time!They are impossible to get a hold on the phone. You have to call central u-haul (long wait times) and get an operator to put you in contact. That's the only way they answer.It's simple: I pay for my stuff to be safely stored and they were not. I would say they are incompetent, but the fact that I wasn't even informed and the unit was left open, just screams careless and malicious.Extra: their storage units' are the worst quality I've ever seen (dirty floors, floppy walls and doors). Maybe i shouldn't have left my things there but I trusted the U-haul brand. Maybe it's not too late for you to put your things in a place that'll give you peace of mind.Bottom line: don't use their facility, they don't care about you, your plans or your belongings.

Zero stars! I reserved a cargo van two months ahead of time for my son’s college move-in date. I got a “confirmation and guarantee” email from U-haul. When I arrived 10 minutes early to pick up the vehicle, I was told that their last vehicle had just been rented out. Despite my guaranteed reservation, her only response was that there was no vehicle until later in the day. She never apologized or explained how this happened. There is absolutely zero sense of responsibility or customer service at this location. I am not sure why anyone should make reservations with U-haul when it means nothing to them. It appears anyone walking in can take the vehicle whether it’s been reserved or not. I was extremely stunned and upset that day. I still am. To top it off, I got a text later that I missed my pick up time and my reservation will be cancelled.

Reserved a unit from them when I got there they said no unit was available and I asked them to call uhaul and she told me she doesn't make phone calls and pretty much my problem. Never go there

Manager checked in my van a day late. Over charged me. Never refunded me. Went through head office who him to refund me and he still hasn't.
