Absolutely useless employees. I called ahead about something I needed, and was assured they had plenty in stock. I drove all the way across town, only to be informed that they didn't have it. This is why I don't shop here. The one time I give it a chance, and they disappoint in spectacular fashion.

I’ve been a Shelbyville resident all my life and have had nothing but positive experiences here. I came in one day looking for something impossible to find and make to plumb a drain in and an employee spent a good amount of time helping me until we figured out something that would work. I will continue to support and shop at this business. Great place!

I’m a lifetime 42 year old Shelby county resident, all I have to say is you can build the biggest prettiest buildings money can buy but if you don’t have customer service down what’s the use? I went into the store Friday evening at 5:48ish to get a specific thing, the guy asked if I could be helped I told him what I needed he told me where they were. But the whole time I felt this high pressure that I better be quick because they are closing soon. I got it and was out in like 5 mins, the guy did “not” say anything “wrong” but man I could feel the pressure to be quick. New competition is NEVER a bad thing. ?

You would think that having an event to potentially get more customers.The ones working there would be a lot more friendlier than they were today. I am not impressed at all. They are very rude and not customer friendly at all. I felt I was an inconvenience to them. Got dirty looks and all. The only reason it has a star at all is because I had to in order for my review to go through

With the new hardware store coming to town, one would think Builders would go out of the way to keep their customer base. I chose to shop Builders Lumber for the past 8 years as it is a small "mom and pop" and thats what I prefer to support.Upon my last visit, I witnessed the degrading of not only a customer, but one of Builders best employees.Owners/management of this business need to realize that customer service is also a big part of why a consumer may chose to shop at their establishment because lets be honest, the prices are almost extortion level.To the employee/owner of Builders (you know who you are) who thinks what I witnessed is an ok way to treat your employee, shame on you!Everyone has the right to show up to work and be treated with kindness and respect. If you have employees who are unable to pull their own weight and rely on others to carry them through the day, you should re-evaluate the employee who is complaining, leave the competent ones to do their job in peace.Although loosing me as a customer will not move your needle at all, I am assured that your true colors will shine through for others to witness, and hopefully you will be treated with the same respect that you bestowed upon this employee by your new employer.#solongbuilderslumber
