Greens were horrible, it looked like they had not mowed in days. Would have been nice to know greens weren’t mowed before paying to pay.

Well maintained golf course. Friendly people and reasonably priced for a round of golf

The course is currently in terrible condition. All tee boxes are in the rough/fairways. There is not a lot of difference between rough and fairways on this course. Good luck on several holes finding enough grass to hit the ball off of. A few holes are closed due to poor conditions. The course layout is awful. I would not recommend this course at nearly any price until conditions significantly improve.

Would have given it a 1 star but the staff was delightful. The lawn people who extremely helpful and the guy in the club house was also top notch. Now on to the course. As I am not a good golfer I stick to the cheaper courses and this has been the worst one so far. It didn't matter whether you were in the fairway or the rough you had to be on too of the ball before you saw it. Really extended the round by having to look for the ball. One time we both walked right by it 3 times before we saw it. Unfortunately I will probably not be going back to the course because I really liked the staff there.

The course looks great this season! We play a few times a week plus 9 holes on Weds night mixed league and have a dinner afterwards with the group. Nice friendly staff and a great bar. There are several leagues available for both men and women. Bear Chase also has banquet facilities and supports many local not-for-profit and corporate outings, as well as being generous to the community. The new golf carts are a plus!

I started playing golf while a teenager, and I must say this is a beautiful course that will both relax and challenge any level of player, with it's 127 rolling acres and 3 sets of tee's for various experience levels. The Blue River runs through many areas of the course, adding to the courses beauty.Play from the back tees (black) spans 6,506 yards for a par of 72, a course rating of 70.7 and a slope of 123. The white tee's: yards 6121, rating 69.6, slope 121 and gold tee's: yards 5231, rating 70.4, slope 119, giving players of all ages and skills a fun fill time. The golf course is open from April to October each year. It offers season passes for a variety of players from the daily player to the occasional player, as well as corporate passes, student passes, and more. They offer early tee time pre-booking at a discount, which is usually booked about 1 week or so in advance, but you get a reduced rate of only about $15 for 18 holes including cart. And peak times on weekends still won't cost more than about $40 per player, including green fees, and cart. So this is an excellent and affordable course to enjoy the day and get some exercise. They also have a banquet room that can accommodate up to 125 people, for any special event you may want to hold. Come out and play 9 or 18 holes with friends, family, or co-workers, and have a great time.

Played a couple of weeks ago for the first time...never to return. Sand traps were like concrete, tee beds were rough. Some tee beds had gravel on them not 2 feet from where we tee from. Course is not laid out well. Very dissatisfied for 50$ and a 45 minute drive.

Ugh, course is short, greens are very hard (ball bounced 3+' when hit on green), course is very qwerky. 9th hole boarders SR9, 3 trucks honked while in my swing, don't go left, you will be in road. 9th hole is first I used driver, all others were to short. 1st par 5 had 200 yards to end of fairway before a hard left turn. Would not recommend!!!

Beautiful little course. It does get busy though. Many hazards include a very busy highway 9 in Shelbyville. The entire western end of the course is an O.B., being bordered closely by Highway 9.

Very nice place. I just like a more open concept. It worked well for our class reunion dinner
