We are in the process of transferring all of our medications to Walgreens from another pharmacy. I had one medication that we ordered a refill last Monday 8/20 and another that we asked to be transferred. The Warfarin (Coumadin) - the medication we were transferring - had three refills on it. I went in today to pick the medications up. I was told I only had one. I asked about the Warfarin. Dale, the pharmacist, said when he called, the other pharmacy said I had no active prescription to transfer - again, the label that he had in his hand showed three refills before 3/4/19. I said, "Well, that's great. I'm pretty well 'f-ed' as I only have three tablets left and it's too late in the day to get another prescription called in before Monday." (A week has ALWAYS been enough time to get a refill transferred and filled). I then asked why nobody thought to call me and tell me there was a problem 4-days ago when the problem presented itself. Dale's response was, "Well, I didn't have a note to call you so I didn't." SERIOUSLY?!? REALLY?!!? You were unable to fill a prescription that was deemed necessary by a physician and because you didn't have a note, you didn't call to say there was a problem? I then said, can I please pick up the medication you do have? Dale's response was, "I won't talk to you until you apologize to me for using foul language." As it was quite apparent Dale was serious, I fell on my sword and apologized for my foul and abusive language (note the sarcasm). Dale then asked for ID and just as quickly rejected the ID because it was expired - it expired last week while I was in the hospital. Never mind I have picked up this medication on multiple occasions WITHOUT presenting ID. When I logged on to Yelp, I noticed a previous review in which they stated they had a similar problem with Dale - his power trip. Dale has single handedly tainted what has to date been a reasonably good relationship with Walgreens. Between my wife and I, we fill prescriptions to the tune of a couple thousand dollars a month. We will be taking that business to another pharmacy. I hope for Dale and Walgreen's sake, there aren't medical repercussions because I don't have Warfarin due to Dale's negligence in not calling me. If there are, the next note won't be on Yelp, it will be on an attorney's letterhead.
