We have pets that we take there as their official vet, but we also inherited several feral cats when we bought our home. We arranged to have all of feral cats neutered and vaccinated through a TNR program, but they are not official patients at this office.
One of the outside kitties was (presumably) hit by a car, and he was in ROUGH shape when we found him. We called several vet offices in a panic, and JCAC was the only one willing to see him. We really thought we were bringing him in to be euthanized, and just giving him a kinder passing.
They squeezed him in THAT MORNING. They were realistic about his chances at survival and the associated costs. Those costs were FAR below what comparable services would have been at a 24-hour emergency vet. He needed a full tail amputation and, later, an eye enucleation.
Everyone at the clinic was compassionate and empathetic every step of the way, while being honest about the reality of the situation.
A few months have passed, and this cat has now been promoted to full-time inside buddy. He lost his tail and one eye, but is otherwise doing incredibly well and is our favorite little nubby buddy. Our one-eyed pirate pal. He used up 8.9/9 lives on this one, but the folks at this vet office saved him. He got another chance because of the expert care he received. 11/10 recommend this vet clinic!”
