2 years there and the girl in the office is the worst. Never says hello, hung up twice yesterday when I tried to pay bill. Terrible customer service. Wants a $440 deposit now. Going full electric.

It's too darn far for a person to travel to sign a paper and produce picture ID at the office in Scottsburg! Why is it impossible use a data program like the other 98% of the business world? Wake up, oh Midwest! It's the 21st century!

My husband and I moved from Louisville, KY to Salem, IN. The home we are leasing/renting is one a ten that the owners have.- First contact was a telephone call. The office staff was, to say the least, RUDE, and acted as if it was a major chore just to give you the information you need.- Secondly, I find it very antiquated and way behind the times, that one has to take time off from work, and in our case, drive 32 minutes to perform a very simple operation. We only needed to have service that was already on and long established in the property owner's name, put into our name for billing purposes. They require that you COME IN TO THE OFFICE to do this. I mean, COME ON Midwest Natural Gas!It is 2024! Get with the program! Even in small towns in the hills of Eastern KY, you can do this online!If it is that Midwest Natural Gas has some fear of fraud, lol, firstly get over it, and secondly, there are many systems that can be utilized and/or put in place to prevent that issue.It is a MAJOR ISSUE and INCONVENIENCE, not to mention losing 2 1/2 hours of pay, to have to take off work in order to do this!!! The lost wages would be helpful to pay them their bill money for gas service when it comes due! ?The woman in the office was just as rude or moreso in person, than when I was calling a few days prior to find out what we needed to do.?There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for such UNNECESSARILY RUDE Customer Service!!

I rather get heat from outside can’t wait to move into a house that’s full electric. Very ignorant people that work for the office . One day late of a payment and didn’t even let anyone know it’s due then they shut your heat off without notice ?????? Then charge a 300 deposit fee to get your services back on! Very pissed off wouldn’t recommend anybody to these people whoever owns this company needs to clean house ) get rid of these people in the office and hire people that can do there jobs right !

Very poor customer service!!!Tried to help ones out and pay bill to current for it had been shut off and I was told without being the account holder I wasn't able. Do better Midwest Gas. All have hard times and I was just trying to help/bless one that is having some hard times.I didn't want to give any stars, however it wouldn't post unless I gave at least one.

Never mind that I paid for an account for nearly a year before ever using a drop of gas, they cut our gas off during the coldest day of the year and it isn't getting any warmer at night. Their tech came by Tuesday morning to cut it off. I told him I could pay the past due, but it would take about an hour to transfer money. He said "No problem, I'll be here in town all day long. I'll come back by this afternoon". Less than an hour later, my gas was cut off. I paid the past due amount and now they are saying I have to pay another $300+ to have it turned back on? Converting to Propane will cost me less than that.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR PAPERLESS!!!! You wont get the promised reminder email, the online payment wont go through half the time, and the main office does not care!

I cannot believe that these are the individuals that are responsible for the majority of gas heat supplied. We called to turn on the heat in an apartment that we are renting and were told that we had to come in person with a lease agreement and money. It was 20° outside and we are both employed. I offered many options of payment immediately and faxing the agreement. This was not sufficient. I had to takeoff work and drive 25 miles to present a lease agreement in person and pay so that we could have heat when it was 20° outside. The owner of the apartment also tried to call and make arrangements for the heat to be turned on and she was concerned about the pipes freezing. She said they were incredibly rude to her as well and gave no other options..My husband and I are both physicians we were renting this apartment for a family member. We have rented apartments in Louisville New Albany and Indianapolis for our children in the past and we have never had to go in person to pay to turn on any utilities before. There is currently an epidemic and we are working 24 hours a day taking care of sick patients but we had to go in person to take care of this. No understanding. Thoughtless. And rude.

Awful company a utility company that does not care about it's customers can't wait for them to slip up a little so they can charge a huge deposit after we already paid one! It's awful we don't have a choice other than this place! I'm not paying them another Dime! Years and years of huge payments and they shut me off for 135.00 pathetic

Terrible Awful company! I have never delt with a company that absolutely does not care at all about it's customers. I was behind 135 dollars! Past due did not have a disconnect notice! I called to talk with the office today because I lost my bill! I asked them to call me back no call back within a few hours when I was not home no call back instead they came and shut me off! If they claim I have to pay a huge deposit to turn it back on it's time to go all electric and get rid of this bill and these people! And I will never pay them another Dime nothing but trouble they should not be allowed to treat people this way and I will be complaining to BBB and FTC!

The lady that answers the phone is rude. Sent bill to the wrong address. However they do give a courtesy call.. at 7pm (when they are closed) lol and when you call back they may or may not put you on hold and hang up on you
