Only given a 1 star because I can't write a review without it. First off went to order two cakes Friday for party's today, waited 45 minutes for an employee that couldn't even answer questions about the cakes, asked for the manager to come back there which was semi more helpful then the original girl. Fast forward to day of the party's, go to pick up the cakes, girl that runs the bakery Laura was completely rude from the minute we walked up. She stated that she called twice and I should have answered because they had to change the minecraft cake. Only to find out the girl that took the order couldn't even write the number down after being given it twice. Had manager come back (same one from Friday) to only take the price of the kit off. Oh and for Laura to tell me that they're hiring if I think I can do better. Get up to the register and my daughter points out that the picture isn't even placed on it all the way !
Laura from the bakery is very rude, unprofessional and apparently does like her job to have such disregard for other people's special days that she's ok with ruining them. No wonder walmart had 55 cakes orders placed Friday for this weekend.

Good customer service is hit or miss.
This is an update for the original review above. It hasn't gotten better. Actually, I'm of the thought tonight's action was worse than usual.The check-out was empty when was ready to leave. The cashier was on her smart phone and I am sure I would do the same... Anyhow, while scanning my few things, 3 to be exact, the cashier continues to speak to other employees. While I was getting cash out of wallet and change she turns her back to me with her hand held out over shoulder for me to lay the money. What happened to the idea the conversation could have waited a few minutes. Still, I hear why we shouldn't want self checkout. At least the machine doesn't deny giving me the respect of it's attention for 2 minutes.

This place gets worse each time I go in it. It always has that musky smell, and the worst of it is that the workers are not nice. They only had one checkout line and the workers at checkout did not say anything to me.

Got some donuts on sale thinking it would be a nice treat for my family only to bite into donuts soaked in grease
The amount of grease on these donuts I can fry chicken with it literally was dripping off the donuts
This isn’t something they should have sold to anyone they should have gone in the trash

I know no one wants to work but I am so tired of your deli went there today first in line a girl and man was working the man assumed the girl was going to wait on me and took the other customer well the girl walked by me didn’t even acknowledge I was there and disappeared in the back so the man continued to wait on his customer then when done took the next customer in line and gave me the wait a minute finger I was done maybe Jay c should get a number system like the bmv does no confusion on who is next

3/12: Third time with a bad experience with the SAME EXACT EMPLOYEE!!!!I literally tried to find another line to go through and got stuck with the young man named Derek again. He doesn't speak at all and looks at you with a look of total disgust as he rings up your groceries. I tried to make small talk because I was so uncomfortable with the way he was treating me, and he was extremely dismissive and rude. No, "Did you find everything" or "Have a nice day," NOTHING! I WILL NOT BE BACK, and i have reported the issue to corporate. You've lost $500 a month from me! I already tried to address it with the manager, and here we are again. A MONTH LATER!!! Other cashiers are rude also. Some of the ladies in the morning need customer service training as well! It's not hard to ask your customer if they found everything or even just smile!!! No one wants to feel negativity from just going to the grocery store.

I don't know this store. I shop at the Jay-C in Salem and I have been to Jay-C stores in Brownstown, Sellersburg, and Seymour, but I have never been to the Jay-C store in Scottsburg. I tried to pick the Salem Jay-C for the Kroger app, but it would not let me, but I never mentioned the Scottsburg Jay-C.

Lovely options, decent prices, good sales, some of the younger staff are very helpful and kind, but the older more experienced staff are somewhat impatient and unfriendly.
