I wanted to provide feedback on my recent experience at your bank. While I have consistently received excellent service from your staff, I encountered a significant issue with Melanie Wagner and her nasty attitude on November 16, 2024. Melanie's handling of a torn bill, which she deemed "mutilated," was contrary to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing's guidelines as of November 15, 2024, which state that commercial banks will exchange unfit currency. When I requested to see the policy, she refused and directed me to an 800 number and a website instead.
I returned on November 20, 2024, and another teller accepted the same bill without hesitation, demonstrating that Melanie's refusal was unwarranted and she lied about said policy. Melanie's approach was unhelpful and did not reflect the high standards of customer service I have come to expect from your bank. I recommend that Melanie undergo additional training on bank policies and customer service to prevent similar issues in the future.

I want to thank Melanie Wagner at the Fifth Third bank branch in Schererville, Indiana for managing a situation I experienced while driving at the intersection of US41 and US30 at 4PM .
Fraudulent activity had occurred on my credit card and I need tp stop the bank to stop the card. After messing up my phone, I got to the 5/3 bank, walked in and met Ms. Wagner who immediately got my card canceled and replaced.
The relief was wonderful. The experience proves the efficiency of the people at 5/3 bank. I have experienced this expert help more than once at my local branch with Pauline Petruch.
I'm confident of getting service above their duty wherever I go with 5/3 people behind me.
Thank you very much for your help. Thank you 5/3 for being a bank that cares about their customers.

I received numerous calls from Jennifer about switching my account and found that to be very helpful. Had a phone appointment with her and she completely blew me off. No text, no call, no email, no voice-mail until the end of the day. I took time out of my busy day and I couldn't even get acknowledged by her. Regardless of any issues a simple text would have been nice instead of wasting my time waiting. Friday she was supposed to call me after her lunch break and I didn't receive that call. Now I feel very disappointed and seriously considering switching banks.

Made an appointment during the week to talk about refinancing for the weekend. Jennifer set it up for Saturday at 10am had too ask her to do so? She tells me there super busy but she would schedule me in? I said if anything changes please call me. I get there at 10am doesn't look busy told her I was here for 10 o'clock appointment she says there's three people before you. I'm like what? There was nobody there? And nobody there to take care of us? total waste of time. Probably go somewhere else for our banking needs because the service here has been not so good.

Bank is supposed to open at 9:00 and they didn’t come to the window or open until 9:15. We were in lane 3 waiting patiently and they made us move to lane 2. I guess to lazy to open another lane. Then it took another 10 minutes to just cash a check. Next time be prepared your a bank!

I walked in the bank today in a hardship situation. I was using the coin machine due to a bill that was taken from my account too early. The Teller must have sensed my anguish and asked how my day was going. I responded with a sigh “ok†and asked about hers. She was very pleasant. She then asked if I knew about early withdrawal and I said no. She asked a representative to help me open an early access account. Neither of them treated me as if they were judging at all. The representative looked up my account and said “you are pre qualified for a credit cardâ€. Wow! I knew customer service is a good thing, just not use to it being practiced at banks. It was first visit at 5/3 on Indianapolis and route 30. It absolutely will not be my last. Thanks ladies. God bless.

Best 5/3 bank I've been to. I drive from Hammond just to go to that back for any issues. Rick Balkan took care of all my questions and when I didn't understand he explained everything until I understood. He didn't rush me out of the door. He took his time. Started a savings were money comes out of my check and goes automatically into my savings without me having do anything. Also will be starting an account to save for my future. Kind of like a 401 k.

The staff here is very helpful and friendly. You really get the feeling that they take a personal interest in you.
