The place is recently under different control (must be) because it's been much more fluid lately. And, importantly, the staff is friendly for a change! The blonde lady who is often working the front desk is just a peach. Always brightens my morning!

We had a mail person come out place a red where they wanted the mailbox we put it in there now after 8 months they're saying it's on the wrong side of the street and it's not their responsibility to move it. Even though their own employee told us where to put the mailbox. The little girl that answers the phone there is so woke and sensitive it is unbelievable I cannot believe the St John post office actually lets this girl answer the phones there. She started screaming at me when I told her over and over again that it was her own employee that told us to put the mailbox where we did and it was that employee that was sent to put the red flag in exactly where we put it. St John needs to really get caught up with the times they're one of the fastest growing cities and they are still doing things from the 1800s. You need to fire the young girl that answered the phone, she was screaming at me like a child not getting her way.

20 people waiting at 9:10 with the gate/screen still down. Opening on time is optional apparently.

There is an African American clerk at the St. John post office that is beyond rude!! And I’m sorry I don’t know her name, in no way do I mean this to be about race. It’s just about doing the job. I have been there when she has literally sworn under her breath when waiting on me, I don’t appreciate that. If she doesn’t want to work there and do her job she should go somewhere else! Also when we sent a package out of state last month we were double charged, she told my husband she couldn’t print out a receipt, so we only discovered this when we got our credit card bill. Also the postage, even on packages is usually placed near the top right side. Ours wasn’t, it was on the bottom towards the left….? What’s that all about. I believe this caused our package to be delayed by almost a week! Even though we have loved this post office for 23 years that we have lived here, we’re going to go to a different one because we are SO tired of this rude, incompetent employee of theirs!

Their scales are not accurate! One scale weighed my package at 11 lbs and I knew it wasn’t that heavy. I had to asked numerous times to have it weighed on the other scale which she finally did and wow… it weighed 4 lbs like I said it would. She stated she has been dealing with “glitches “ on that other scale all morning long. Then, why use it?? I wonder how many people paid way too much for their packages to be mailed at this office? HmmmmI tried calling and boy do they make it hard to get through to anyone to talk to them.

Always crowded and super small. Customer service is never good in the slightest. Avoid.

This is my very bad experience this morning at the St John Post Office. I am posting it here so in case I need it again I can find it here. I am really so upset.I was mailing a package to Spain and I was surprised that the printed address label was not generated the way it usually is when I mail internationally. So I asked why that was the case, because whenever I pay a lot of money ($66.35 today) for postage I want to make sure the address is correct. The clerk who was helping me called another woman to ask why, and she simply said that that was how it was done. I asked when the label would be printed and she said before the clerk goes home. I thought this was kind of unusual and unprofessional, so I asked to see Laura the manager whom I know personally and she said she wasnt there. When I said I had just spoken to her that morning on the phone, which I did, she called a young man from the back, and in front of me she was telling him that I was calling her a liar and I simply wanted INSTANT GRATIFICATION (her exact words) and when I was telling her that was not the case, she said DONT INTERRUPT ME. Finally I got to speak to the young man myself and he explained that international labels were not printed immediately like before because of the long lines during the holidays and the understaffing. I said why did she not just simply say that to me? All I wanted was reassurance that this change in procedure would still guarantee my $66.35 postage paid package would arrive safely. He said if there are no lines we can do it now (and there was nobody at all but me in the office at the time) so he asked the original clerk to print the label, and she did! In the meantime I could hear this other woman in the back telling another person that I was calling her a liar and going on and on about what happened, and when she came out I said I never called you a liar and she said dont talk to me. St John has been the best post office in America I have ever lived close to and I used to love the service, with the manager Laura, the clerk also named Laura, Kevin, another clerk, and Amanda our mail carrier. Ever since this woman came in I have been so surprised at her rudeness. I have had two other encounters with her but i did not bother to write a note because she was just simply rude and unfriendly and i thought she was just having a bad life (I have experienced this rudeness twice already in the past, excluding today's experience). She is an african american woman with long hair and a nose ring. The clerk who did my package would not give me her name, and she wouldnt give me her name either. She just said "dont talk to me" again when I asked her. I have never encountered this kind of rudeness from anyone in any type of business ever. I came in on 12/28/22 at 1:24 pm on my receipt. I hope this encounter does not affect the delivery of my package. Please consider getting a replacement to bring back the great reputation of the St John Post Office on Thiel St.

Worst post office I’ve ever been to. Told me during business hours they weren’t taking mail and just told me they decided to just stop taking mail for no reason.

Worst Post Office I’ve ever been to. I’ve tried 3 times this week to mail out a package. The hours say open until 5:30pm but apparently you can only buy stamps after 4pm. What a waste.

These people run this place like it’s their personal business. When asked what time they close: “pretty soon.” It also closes for several hours midday. “Sorry, can’t do Priority Mail because the scale is broken.” Counter employee also stated she almost didn’t open today because other employee didn’t show up. I guess she thinks no service is better than slow service. And all these reasons/excuses were during one visit!! This place is a joke. The Federal government would be better off closing it down and saving themselves some money and us some aggravation. Not wasting our time coming here anymore even though this is our town office.

Rude employees. Wouldn't recommend giving service to this place. Management seems super bad and they need better training as they can't do their job correctly. *Update. (They lost a package of mine costing me alot of money)
