Tipsaw Lake Recreation Area

Tipsaw Lake Recreation Area is a beautiful and peaceful spot with a historic-looking lake and a sandy beach. The lake has stone work that feels unique since it’s not made anymore. The primitive camping loop, called Dogwood, is well maintained, clean, accessible, and offers decent cell coverage. Visitors enjoy the site’s quiet atmosphere and good amenities, with some noting that the showers are among the nicest they’ve seen outside of hotels. The trails around the area are well maintained and suitable for hiking and walking dogs, though some parts may be impassable or overgrown. The group site is perfect for family gatherings, though visitors have had to do some weed-eating before setting up. Overall, Tipsaw Lake offers a lovely mix of lake views, camping, hiking, and family fun, making it a favorite outdoor destination.
