My BFF and I were in town for the eclipse weekend and we happened to stop by the Arboretum when we were scoping out places to watch the eclipse. Stephen and all of the staff at the arboretum were super friendly and helpful. Stephen recommended we watch from the open field on the arboretum grounds and it was the PERFECT place! Thank you so much for the recommendation and for your hospitality! The eclipse was an experience we will never forget!

Saw the 2024 Solar Eclipse here. Wonderful place for kids and learning about the forest. Lots of activities for 2-10 year olds.

Wonderful. The arboretum has a variety of trails, including a story walk for kids that ends in a great outdoor play area. The nature center also has lots of fun activities for kids.

My husband and I got married here and I could have not asked for a more perfect location. We also got a year membership to explore the trails and it's SO worth it. Steve Hayes Jr. was incredibly kind. I absolutely recommend the Woodland Chapel to anyone looking for that simple, yet gorgeous outdoor vibe for their wedding. Chapel was very affordable and out of site from the city. Couldn't be happier with Hayes Arboretum!

This gem is hidden in plain sight in Richmond. With lots of walking trails, an auto tour and a nature center with activities for kids of all ages, it's a great place to spend time away from the grind of modern life. And it's very close to the east side commercial zone, not far from downtown. We went with our 18 month old grandson this past weekend and he loved it!

We visit this place often but this last time we were on a field trip. They were very interactive with the children. They made it possible for them to understand at their level. They made it very entertaining!
