Absolutely AMAZING service and staff! When I expressed my gratitude, I was told, "We take care of the people, not the cars." I completely understand what that means! God led me to this auto repair shop and noone can tell me otherwise. I HIGHLY recommend Don, Ron, and the entire staff! I LOVE this place and will be trusting them with all of our vehicles for our home, as well as our business fleet.

We have lived in Richmond for 3 years and had never been able to find a quality and reliable auto repair shop. Our van had the ABS, Traction control, and airbag light come on. We took it to another shop in the area and they misdiagnosed as a single part issue and quoted a $2000 job. Our friends recommended Cates and we were able to get our van in. Upon diagnosing they discovered two separate issues that they solved promptly, with great customer service, and at a way lower cost. They were very communicative, helpful, and upfront and we are happy to get our van back in great functioning order. I love that they are faith based and family owned. We’ll definitely be long term customers from here on out.

I would give 10 Stars if I could. Excellent, excellent customer service. I was referred to Cates Auto Service by Nissan as well as our insurance provider due to a side collision accident. The care that everyone at Cates demonstrated from the moment I walked in the door, 'til the moment they were done was amazing. They reviewed the damage with me, provided me with details and timeline of the repairs they would make, and provided me with a rental car to use during this time. Once the repairs were made, they called to let me know I could pick up my vehicle, which was on a Friday before a holiday. They told me that I could take my vehicle so I would have MY car for the holidays, but there was one minor trim issue they were waiting on but would not affect the drivability. The called me the following week to let me know the extra part was in and I could come in at my convenience. I was not able to get away from work during the day, or their open hours so they graciously came and picked up my car, made the adjustment and returned it to me within the hour. Absolutely amazing service! Would highly, highly recommend to anyone. The gal (sorry I don't remember names) in the office was so sweet and was most concerned about making ME happy and comfortable. The rest of the Cates family and mechanics in the garage, also very detail oriented, nice, and understanding of all my needs. 10 OUT OF 10 RECOMMEND!!!

I had my back bumper of my year old Toyota Highland scraped against by a (nice) gentleman trying to move a trailer. I called Toyota and they sent me here and now I understand why. It looks like the scrap never happened and for a great price. They have some of the best customer service and I would recommend them to anyone.

I had an accident and needed body work done. After waiting a month for an estimate and a call back, I called to get an update…I got a call back that they lost track of my estimate but it was done. Sad to say I have been a customer for over 30 years up until today…
