We stopped here during a road trip from MN-MI and back. Their fuel prices were comparable to other nearby gas stations, inside featured a wide variety of snack and drink items & the bathrooms were clean. Staff was friendly and quite helpful. Nothing negative to note about this location. Highly recommended! We'd stop here again if we were in this town passing through!

I came here to have service work done one a truck. First they told me they could fix it. After about 4 hours they realized they couldn't fix it. So they decided to order the parts so I wouldn't have to go to another repair shop. I assume this was done as a courtesy but it turns out this has been a complete nightmare. They said leave the truck and trailer in the garage. Even though only the trailer is being repaired. So as the day progresses I'm assuming they changed shifts and someone connects their phone to a radio and starts blasting music directly near my window. So we decide well back out the garage and just park in front of the bay. But for some reason that was not an option and they turned the radio down and changed the station but again it's still directly near the window. So my codriver tells them we'll leave and go to a different repair shop. In a very rude tone the mechanic states well you have to pay your bill first. Next I'm not sure if this person is aware but someone is walking by saying how "the only way to fix it is to completely exterminate black people or educate them, but extermination is better" I can't describe how disgusted I am with my experience here. I sent a message to corporate via Facebook and no one has contacted me regarding the issue. So after waiting there all morning, got them to locate the part, which I suspect they didn't try to look for it and because I apparently owed a bill, the bill was non existent when I went to pay the bill. Thank goodness there are other gas stations for truckers other than TA

okay other than the Country Pride visiting the TA at Porter after almost 5 years.. why you could clearly see the old travelport has been remodeled very impressive but you can also see what it used to be back where the broker offices are as that is kind of dividing line for the remodel with the exception of the floor lol.. all around good old steel City there used to be tons and tons of broke her outfits out here but still quite a bit of flatbed freight cuz it still steel but it's not what it used to be in at a day but none the less it's still there. the old Mawson & Mawson Dearborn the ones that have been there back when I have my own trucks in mid 00s still here brokering away... so now we come to the actual look it's still a huge old travelport now ta with loads of parking want to look at some of the pictures I shall post and see how far back this parking lot goes it can handle a lot of trucks compared to your pilot's in other places..the facility itself inside is extremely clean since they remodeled it you can see they take a lot of pride in it the can was nice and clean and stocked. the floors look like they've been done quite often and mopped the laundry room was extremely impressive all the machine bank's we're all working and there's many here and the laundry room was very very clean.. the TV lounge very clean vacuum smell good not like a homeless shelter nice furniture in there everything really really impressive fitness center looks like they take pride in that one I've noticed some t/a are not..I already mentioned my great experience in the restaurant the Popeyes in Taco Bell was jammed I can see why the restaurant loses a lot of business people come and see that Popeyes in Taco Bell in all the booths.. travelers just gravitate right towards it. the travel stores well-stocked like some of the Petro they have one of those little mini gift shops at the entrance at I call Cracker Barrel lite LOL. the pool table and there's a lot of sitting areas here now to they have little benches along the wall because old travelport's had long corridored hallways..also when I was there they were pothole patch in some of the junk calls nice job ta is really unfortunately I don't understand why people the restaurant closes on Saturday and Sunday but I guess it is what it is but this is a very impressive old travelport brought up to today's standards and very very nice shape. extremely cordial employees great attitudes and I will still need to see back where the broker offices were the dividing line of where they didn't remodel and you could still see the classic travelport paneling everywhere that used dot the whole center.. so in closing I'll just simply say I was very impressed Ripley Street to hell hole Gary I don't even bother stopping at and down on 65 in the mod it could be touch-and-go I don't really get in the Michigan but once in a blue moon so I don't know how Sawyer is but there's so many different Travel centers ta is within a hour drive of each other it's really nice to see the old one here in Porter has been kept up like it has.. in fact I was quite impressed so much that I definitely won't hesitate more often when I not going to be rolling down towards Indianapolis and got time and don't want to stay and Gary or even Hebron for that matter that I'll just keep that thing in the wind eastbound another 9 1/2 miles like I'm going out towards Michigan and simply cruise on in here..

This is a very clean and well maintained truck stop with a multiple dining options (don't miss the sit-down Country Pride restaurant in the back), a video game, pool table, and some "claw" games inside.... not to mention a wide array of snacks and stuff for your road trip! We will definitely stop here again the next time we drive through this area.

In the early 1980s my brother went to college at the University of Michigan, in the 1990s a girlfriend then a wife in the 2000s from Western Michigan, this truck stop has become a road trip tradition. Compared to other border region truck stops, this one is okay. There are a couple of unhealthy fast food options, plenty of gas station snacks, the usual truck stop gift and sundry options (I don't actually know what sundries are though), so it's not just that the gas is cheaper here than it usually is in Indiana and always cheaper here than in Illinois, it's that there's stuff to look at when you need to stretch your back a little and shake the bleary out with a refueling for the car and a rest room break. Because it's a busy truck stop, the restrooms aren't always clean and are rarely clean smelling. If I could plan my trip better I would refuel further north, but there's something about state borders on medium to longer card trips that make me want to stop for a bit. The last time I came through here, just a couple of weeks ago, I was thinking about a time I came through in 1981, and for nostalgic reasons I asked if they sold postcards and postcard stamps. The cashier said, "I don't think anyone has asked that question this century!"

24 hour truck stop with a Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, & a Popeyes (one of the few in this area). Stays pretty busy. The Popeyes is pretty good. The biscuits are the buttery best.

I just wouldn't think of rating a stop like TA but I will. We've stopped here several times before to fill up on gas (cheaper in Indiana than MI or IL) and use the rest rooms. Sometimes we buy snacks or drinks, too. On Thursday night, I really wanted a cup of hot tea for the rest of our trip. Big Thumbs Up for having at least one decaf option but Thumbs Down for a broken hot water dispenser. No problem....the attached restaurant had hot water for me. Thumbs Up. I went to pay in the TA center and explained their dispenser was empty (thought they may need to do something to get hot water to dispense for the next customer). But no, it had been broken by a previous customer. If they knew this, why no sign at the dispenser to help me (and another guy who wanted hot water, too?) Thumbs Down. But then Thumbs Up - they didn't charge me for the hot water or the tea bag. That was nice and really appreciated since I spent several minutes with the other guy as we tried to figure out what to do....on our own.
